  1. Thank you. If you honestly think that the Yankees will overtake the Sox in this division then you are not a Red Sox fan, and I will kindly ask you to get the hell off this board. Now, "wow dude", if you think the Yankees are gonna catch the A's, and stay ahead of the Guardians(who have a 2nd half schedule as easy as the Yankees did in the first half) then you're kidding yourself. The Yankees have 1, ONE, starting pitcher that has lived up to expectations this year. ONE. Moose is the only pitcher on the Yankees staff right now that I would be worried about. RJ isn't the same old RJ, that's obvious, and everyone else is hurt. Yeah Wright made one start, woohoo, he'll be hurt by Friday.
  2. There is also the same rule about a first basemen. If you notice 9 times out of 10 on a routine out the 1B will leave the bag well before the ball gets there.
  3. Sorry guy but the world does not revolve around the Yankees. Just because he is good against the Yankees doesn't mean that he's the ace of the staff. Anyway, the only time the order of the rotation really matters is the playoffs, and we wont be seeing the Yankees there, will we?
  4. You guys sound like you're talking about the '04 Helton. He's no longer the great player he once was. He's still pretty productive, and hits for a good average, but for his salary I think you'd have to be insane to trade for him at this point. You could get Daryle Ward from the Pirates, and get the same power numbers as Helton for $11,650,000 less. I don't think Tito would be foolish enough to take on Helton's salary. And this is coming from someone who loves Todd Helton. ... I think I just wet my pants
  5. Oh he may keep pitching like this, for a week, until he gets hurt again. There are a lot of things for the Sox to worry about, but I doubt big bag jarrid wright coming back to the rotation is one of them. Wright was an overachiever in Cleveland, and he's been injury prone since, what about this kid is supposed to scare the Sox? I mean come on ... he's no Aaron Small.
  6. OK I know everyones really excited about this, and I am too, but lets not all go jumping off the Wade Miller band wagon just yet. With the surgery he had it will take a full season of throwing for him to regain full strength in his arm, and yes there are going to be bumps along the way. The Sox will not release Wade by any means during the season, or before next. I believe that Theo got him just to hold down the fort this year until Schilling was 100%, which he did for the most part. I think he also got him for what he's going to bring to this team next year. If by the start of next year he is 100% then you're looking at one of the cheapest All Star pitchers in the league. Just don't start bitching about Wade like your did about Rents, because I think it's gonna come back to bite you in the ass the same way.
  7. Hey Mr. Confidence, where were you a few weeks ago?
  8. You guys all want to make Timlin the closer but then who is the set up man? Your closer doesn't matter if your set up man can't get to him. I think we should bring papelbon back and try him as the closer. The kid throws hard, locates well, and I definatly think he's capable of getting 3 outs a night. I don't really like moving Curt back into the rotation just because he has failed so miserably in 1 inning that I don't even want to think how bad it could get after 6 or so. I guess that's what we're going to do now, and move either bronson or wade to the bullpen. I guess I'm OK with this because it will make the bullpen stronger, but I just don't think Curt is ready to start again.
  9. We could go on naming people for the next 5 years. Fact of the matter is, we have no idea. It's actually worse that MLB hasn't released the names simply because we're going to be speculating and possibly throwing out names of people that don't deserve it, until they are released. I don't think Sosa has been caught simply because he is still about 1/10th the size he was last year, and has yet to gain any power back. So as much as Sosa seems like an obvious answer I don't think he is. The only name I really see on your list that I could see testing positive is Sheffield. Just because we all know he already used steroids in the past, so why not again. MLB should release the names the day they test positive. I don't care what appeal processes they have to go through or whatever, the league shouldn't be protecting cheaters in any way.
  10. It's not cheating until you get caught, and he got caught last October. That definatly is not smart baseball ... especially if your already out and your on your way off the field. Did you ever hear about any great players ever smacking balls out of peoples hands or kicking them around? Rickey Henderson is one of the best base runners ever, yet I can't quite ever remember him doing either. Are you telling me A-rod is a smarter base runner than Rickey? It doesn't matter who the Yanks were playing when it happened. It's a bitch move made by a true bitch. Smacking and kicking balls isn't part of baseball.
  11. Yes thank you. Somoene else noticed that. There isn't a straight man in the world that frosts his hair.
  12. What does this have to do with Jon? I'm still really high on Rents. I wan't him around for the future unless Theo can make a major upgrade which I don't really see happening. He has been making more errors than usual, but you have to understand the guy has great range. He gets to a lot of balls that most SS don't. Ranging as far as he does he knows he has to hurry which causes errors. I don't know why people are still so down on him.
  13. Can't say I saw the play but it doesn't surprise me at all. What a douche bag.
  14. Welcome. The only logical reason I've heard for Rice not being in the HOF was from someone here who posted something along the lines of, "It's all his wifes fault for dressing him in those bad suits during the post game show". I guess that has to be it because I can't find anything else that would be keeping him out.
  15. wow so you want Ballgame and Rents out? Welcome ... I guess, but why are you so hell bent on changing a first place team?
  16. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA You say that like its a good thing HAHAHAHA
  17. I think I heard something about, oh please let me be wrong, Terry Mullholland also coming to the Sox in the next day or so. I really hope thats not true. I don't want Theo to just go grab a Lefty reliever just for the sake of getting one.
  18. I wouldn't go giving Petagine a free pass. First base in AAA and Japan is just like first base in the bigs. Catching a ground ball is catching a ground ball, and being able to locate a pop up is being able to locate a pop up, theres no difference. I'll give Cora a pass because he was playing a new position though.
  19. Well, one of my favorite things about being able to watch the games on NESN, over the past week and a half or so, was getting to listen to remmy, and don. I don't think I've ever laughed as much during a sporting event, as I have watching these Red Sox games. These guys give you the info and keep you entertained. Even if it's a blow out, they always still find a way to keep me entertained. Very happy Remmy is staying.
  20. You don't think Small can get the job done in the playoffs? Come on be realistic Anyway, they don't really need playoff pitchers, because they're not going to be there.
  21. On Mike and Mike on ESPN radio, Buster Olney just said that Pavano is done for the year.
  22. Where the hell did you get that from? Anyway, agreed. I'm not really sure how we can steadily increase his innings unless we send him to the minors though. I mean you can't predict how long your starters are going to go, and you can't throw away a game just for the sake of getting schilling the right amount of innings. I'm not really sure how we're going to swing this, but come playoff time we need Curt in this rotation.
  23. Well thank you KFK. The entire point you wanted to establish was the you bring "something." I love ya man but shut the hell up if you don't have anything to say. We all know about how your great in the clubhouse, and how you make everyone laugh, and your everyones friend, but frankly, I'm getting tired of hearing about it. There's a huge difference between Brady and KFK. The Pat's can't win without Brady on the field every single weekend. The Sox can definatly win without KFK on the field. Why don't you retire and become a bench coach if all you think you bring is a smile and a joke?
  24. Again Moose is the only Yankee starter, from the begining of the year, that is still healthy. How are we only 3.5 games up?
  25. See you're proving my points again. Giambi already has the money. The only think he cares about now is winning the fans over. Everyone knows Giambi is very thin skinned and he really does care what the fans think about him. You don't think getting booed every time he came to the plate f***ed with his head a little. You don't think he wanted to reclaim his glory and be loved again by the fans? By the clubhouse? You said he wants to be a leader again ... what better way to get there than the way you did the first time ... steroids. Bud can raise his eyebrows up and down for the next 4 years ... it doesn't matter. He can't single out Giambi and just test him because of his numbers. I'm done with this topic as I'm done talking about something that really doesn't matter at all. No matter if he tests positive or not, he'll be sitting at home in October, and thats all that matters.
