  1. I don't think theres any way George is going to let Bernie come back. He's washed up, and can't play CF anymore. What use would he be to the Yankees? All he would do is eat up a roster spot, and some salary.
  2. Don't worry about Wade, he'll be fine as long as we give him some run support.
  3. I dont really think anyone would have any interest in 2 players that do the same thing. I actually get to see the game tonight due to Comcast's free Extra Innings. Excited to see Wade on the hill, as it will only be the 2nd time I've seen him this year. It'd be nice to see him get established early and make this game something to build on in the future. Like said above we must sweep this series.
  4. Well if the Burnett trade goes through that means Shoppach and Abe are gone.
  5. Ok if you want to keep talking about it then ... MLB TEAM PAYROLL (US$) 1. NY Yankees 205,938,439 2. Boston 121,311,945 84 Million Dollars is quite a bit of difference. 28. Pittsburgh 38,133,000  Hey look at that ... it's almost exactly as much more as the Red Sox spend than the Pirates. Quick someone tell me how much better The Red Sox are than the Pirates?
  6. I dont think theres any chance The Sox get Soriono. Unless, we give Texas some pitching. We don't really have any SP we can afford to get rid of, and with Abe already gone, I dont expect Theo to move another SP prospect.
  7. The money thing was just kind of a dig at Georgie and Ca$hMoney. If you could get past that I made a point. And why are you so defensive about your payroll? Because its 50 times bigger than the Pirates? Just let it go.
  8. I agree. I don't think a team looking to repeate as World Champions needs to take a risk like bringing up someone from AA. Best case senerio, you get about as much production as your getting out of Bellhorn, without the playoff experience. Worse case, you stunt Hanley's growth, and ruin him. I don't think its a risk worth taking right now, but I do expect to see him and Pedoria in the Majors next year. Bellhorn has about as much trade value as a bat bag.
  9. There is no question that I want to see the Pats in the AFC Championship just because, to be the man, you have to beat the man. I would be much happier beating the Pats, then winning the SB, as opposed to beating the Colts, then winning the SB. I guess either way though we get that one for the thumb.
  10. Anyone who broadcasts for ESPN, or Fox. Mainly because their too busy, choking on the Yankees, to actually call the game. I still don't think I'll ever get over how overrated that play Jeter made last year was, and it was all because of the annoncing. The problem with these guys are that they only get excited when the Yankees are doing well. I remember the ALCS last year it sounded like they were almost in tears during the last few innings of game 7. Whoever the douche bag who does the "Theeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win!" thing after a Yankee win should be shot in the face.
  11. Whats more pathetic is that the New York, 200+ Million dollar, Yankees are going to bank on Al Lieter and probably atleast one AAA pitcher down the stretch, and possibly in the playoffs. I'm worried about the Sox pitching, but atleast we have 5 legit MLB starters. I can't imagine any Yankee fan is anything but worried right now. Sure you're playing great now, but pitching wins championships, and you have none. You rotation is RJ, Moose, Lieter, and KB. Chances are KB will be down again within the week, so that leaves you guys with 3, OLD, starters. I'd worry about your pitching staff, not cracking jokes about how Al Lieter had 1 good game.
  12. No I believe the Gmen are killing themselves for picked up Plaxio, always in handcuffs, Burress. Eli will be fine, but Plax is such a waste. Nice to see this is breaking down to a preseason NFL thread
  13. First of all, lets not jump on Dale. A third base coach, especially in fenway, has one of the toughest jobs in MLB. I doubt anyone posting here can do a better job than he has done, although I'll admit he has made many errors. What Belli did the other day was completely his fault, and not Dale's. The reason the Sox aren't trying to steal with Johnny and Rents is because there are so many bats in this lineup. Why take the chance of running out of innings, or taking runners off base, when you have a capable hitter at every spot in the lineup(except where bellhorn is batting)?
  14. If horny would have been in last night he would have just struck out, instead of ground into a DP, so maybe he should have been out there. I really don't think that bellhorn is a liability at 2nd base. I think it has more to do with, we as a Red Sox Nation, trying to find something else to panick about. 2nd base is not a position that I am worried about going into the playoffs. Most teams don't have much run production at 2nd base, and as long as his defense is still good, then I'm fine with him being on the field. With 6E and a .985 FPCT, I'm very pleased with bellhorn at 2nd. Look did we really expect this guy to come out hit 30HRs or hit for average?
  15. My names Frank, I'm 19 ... born and raised in the steel city, been a Sox fan since 1998. Originally I just began watching Sox games to watch Petey pitch, but eventually fell in love with the team. I'll promise to keep my Pats suck comments to myself, if all you New Englanders promise to keep your Steelers suck comments to yourselves.
