  1. Did he use steroids?
  2. Well either someone read something wrong or was wishfully thinking but the actual story from ESPN Insider ...
  3. I think he's just upset because Wells is better than all the Pitchers on the Yankees staff combined.
  4. I agree. Infact I wouldn't even give him an hour. I'd throw all his s*** in a box and hand it to him before he walks in the building. I can't imagine that KFK will be around much longer, because I think we've waited about 3 months too many for him to come out of his "slump". But, something tells me he's going to be here until the end of the season.
  5. Quoted from SOSH I don't even know what to think about this. Jason is a former Bucco, and anyone that has pitched for the Pirates, besides wakefield it seems, is injury prone(see Kris Benson, Jason Schmidt, John Lieber, Kip Wells, Oliver Perez, and every other pitching prospect we ever had), and he's getting up there in age so I really wouldn't understand this much if it took place. Just wanted to give you guys the skinny.
  6. The Buck Foston shirt is a perfect example of how fans and vendors a like will get around this. They will just come up wtih more original ways to express the theme "Yankees Suck" on a t-shirt. Which actually will be better because it means there are more shirts and more ways to say the Yankees suck.
  7. Well, I know Bradley goes after fans but when did he start using steroids?
  8. Well Bonds was a great athlete before he started using steroids, but they certainly prolonged his career, and added a ton of power. Although if he tries to come back at 41, with no knees, and no steroids, I'm not sure if he could carry Bellhorn's jock.
  9. I agree. Another example would be BET ... if you tried to put White Entertainment Television on the air you'd be thrown in jail and labeled a racist.
  10. You mean you guys really want to get rid of the "Tom Brady of baseball". BTW I never said someone wasn't a fan for not having blind faith. If you jump on a player after 1 bad game/start(schilling) or a slow start to a season(renteria) only to jump back on their bandwagon later you're not a fan.
  11. You can throw out all of his stats because they all reflect his steroid use.
  12. Well Paps is in the pen, and as a starter I'd certainly hope he can get righties and lefties out.
  13. I don't care how somoene holds their liquor. You should never get behind the wheel after drinking. Anyone dumb enough to get in a car even after having one drink deserves to be caught. And hopefully caught before they kill someone, and/or themselves.
  14. I'm really falling in love with the Guardians. Naturally as a yinzer(someone from Pittsburgh) I'm taught to hate everything about Ohio, but I just can't hate the Guardians. Everyone was speculating that next year would be their break out year, but they've really come through this year. Around the diamond they are young and talented, and are only going to get better. I'm going to jump on their bandwagon somewhat here and take them to win the wild card this year.
  15. I don't really see a need to change a starter into a closer. It's something you do 1. When the guy can't cut it as a starter or 2. He is getting into the late stages of his career and is losing stamina. Paps doesn't fall into either category so I don't see a reason to do it. I don't see why you would want to change his mind set when he's going to be starting next year. I think keeping him in the bullpen is fine, but I don't think I want him to close.
  16. Yeah you know we just won the WS, so lets start cleaning house. Yeah and I guess Bellhorn's HR in Game 6(I believe) had nothing to do with us winning the ALCS last year. I'm sure nothing he did helped. He may have sucked this year, but let's not act like this guy has sucked since the day he came to Boston. Why the hell do you want to get rid of the coach that helped bring us a WS last year? I dont see any reason to get rid of Tito. What because he's made a few bad decisions this year? NEWSFLASH: EVERY MANAGER DOES. YOU ARE A f***ING DOUCHE BAG FAIR WEATHER **********! DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT! SELL EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ASSOCIATE WITH THE RED SOX! AND GO CHEER FOR THE YANKEES YOU FAIR WEATHER DOUCHE BAG ... YOU'LL FIT RIGHT IN WITH THEM! I apologize for that but these people are really starting to piss me off.
  17. I'm not sure exactly who you guys think Matt Lawton is, but a guy who is going to help with defense he is not. He missed possibly the most popups in the history of baseball during his time with the Pirates. Turned tons of sure outs into doubles, and made his fair share of bonehead plays. Don't let the fact that he only has 2 errors fool you ... most of his errors are mental ... or because he chooses not to hustle. Just look at his Assists, 4, for a guy who played RF the first half of the season in a field that is extremely short to right is pathetic. This may be an upgrade for the Yankees, but certainly not a big one. I also don't really see adding a guy who is 34 as an upgrade in the age department. I think I'd take a 50 year old bernie williams over a 34 year old Matt Lawton.
  18. I wouldn't be worried about a 41 year old guy with no knees.
  19. Well, that's what I'm saying ... if if if. How is any team going to know what their getting next year if he doesn't come back this year.
  20. He was hitting 94 last night ... he was hitting 96 last year ... I'll take that. Who would you have rather had pinch hit last night? A lefty was on the mound so that takes Papi, and Trot out of the equation ... wouldn't you go with your best power hitting righty? Well that's what Tito did. No one needs to be blamed for the loss last night besides the team. The team wins ... the team loses. I don't see a need to blame anyone.
  21. I agree that there is reason for concern, but there is a big difference between concern and being a fair weather douche bag. I'm not saying that I'm not concerned with Curt, but I'm far from jumping off the ship. Concern is a normal part of our lives, especially as sports fans. But jumping off a bandwagon before the dance is over isn't. Concern is saying something along the lines of "I really hope Curt can right the ship" Being a fair weather douche back is saying "OMFG HE SUCKS!!!11111"
  22. Haha. You better watch comments like that with Wells on the team now.
  23. We're working so hard to take away the rights we fought so hard for in the past. This country is moving in reverse.
  24. So does that Kent statement mean that you're convicting him of being a racist because of the way he looks? Because that is racism. "Redneck" is a racist statement. Bradley said something about there being racism in the clubhouse and it just being a "baseball thing". Well Milton racism isn't a one way street. There are racists all over this country, and the biggest misconseption is that they're all white. If there is racism in the clubhouse I'm sure it goes both ways. I'm really get tired of the race card being thrown out. It's really time for people like Milton Bradley to grow up and realize that the world is not out to get the black man. Now, if Kent did make a racist comment then you go to the manager and talk to them about it. You don't go on TV and cry to reporters about it. It's as unproffesional as Kent, supposidly, making racist comments. Sorry if I went off the deep end a little there but I'm so fed up with the race card being played. BTW, I'm not taking either of their sides because I have no idea what really happened.
  25. Here we go again. What is with all of you fair weather fans. Rents isn't hitting so you crucify him, then he starts hitting and you jump back on his band wagon. Schilling has one bad start so you crucify him, then when he eventually will get it going you'll all jump on his band wagon. Look, you're either a Red Sox fan or your not. Some of you are making us look like Yankee fans(fair weather) and I really don't like that. You can't pick and chose when you're going to cheer for a player. Learn how to be fans, and stop being cry babies every time someone has a bad game. Did you people(everyone being negative) really think that Curt was gonna throw a no hitter? It was his first start since the begining of the season ... of course it's gonna be a little shakey. How you can say he didn't have good location when he only walked one hitter is beyond me. Either stand behind the Sox 365 days a year or stop pretending to be a fan.
