  1. Palmiero's positive test wasn't taken the day it was annonced. Giambi could have test positive 2 months ago, and we may not find out about it for another 2 months.
  2. Papi compiled 26 Hrs in 3 months. So he hit 12 more HRs in 3 months than Giambi did in 1. That's your arguement? Good try. Not to mention that Papi just started coming into his own in 2003. Also he didn't suddenly get bigger. Look Giambi isn't the only hitter thats patient at the plate. Every good hitter in the league waits for a pitch they can crush, and if they dont get it they take their walk. He's hasn't fixed holes in his swing ... he's improved his bat speed. The problem with the first 3 months for Giambi is that he was behind everything. His swing looked so ugly because he was trying to catch up to the pitches. How does your bat speed increase this much in a few days? There's only one logical answer.
  3. Actually, you're missing the point entirely. It doesn't matter if all of his HRs go out after bouncing off the RFers head. A HR is a HR is a HR. Yes I agree that I've seen almost every player in the league get hot for atleast a few days, sometimes even a few months. But, in my 13 years of watching baseball I've yet to see anyone hit 3 times as many HRs in one month, as they did in the 3 previous. Look, lets once again think about this logically. Whens the last time Giambi hit anywhere near 14HRs in a month? When he was on steroids right? Well lets see since coming back without steroids he hit 5 HRs in 3 months. Then all the sudden he goes from hitting 1HR a month to 14 ... his SLG is doubled. Manny Ramirez is one of the best hitters in the league, has he ever seen a power surge like this? How about Ortiz? Vald? Pujols? Derek Lee? A-rod? Sheffield? BABE f***ING RUTH!? If you don't see that this guy is on steroids then I suggest you start pulling your own hair, because if you don't get your head out of your ass soon your going to suffocate. Again, don't even reply again unless you can come to me with the numbers of another player who has done this. Just saying "uhhhh ... he's not on steroids" is not a very convincing arguement. Go look up some stats and come back at me with a legitament arguement.
  4. That's exactly why you want Tony G at the bottom of the lineup. He's now over .300 on the season, and I think he's a great 9 spot hitter. I understand that Tito will probably give Bellhorn a chance to win his job back but he really doesn't deserve it. Bellhorn G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG Season 85 283 41 61 20 0 7 28 3 .216 .328 .360 Tony G G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG Season 68 226 34 68 7 2 3 19 3 .301 .375 .389 I'd much rather have Tony out there. Bellhorn, it's been real, thanks for your help with the WS, but it's time for you to start picking splinters out of your ass on a nightly basis. The fact that the Pirates have a better 2B than Bellhorn should be enough to keep him on the bench when he gets back.
  5. OK I'm going to say this ONE MORE TIME! Stop saying it's just a hot streak unless you can back that up with the evidence I asked for. I've yet to be able to find a player that hit 5 HRs in the first 3 months then all the sudden exploded for 14 and raises his SLG .543 points. This doesn't happen. Bellhorn may have hit 3 HRs in 3 games, but did he sudden triple his HR total in one month? Did his SLG suddenly rise .543 points from one month to another? No? Then it's not a valid arugment. First, stop defending a player that doesn't deserve to be defended. Second, stop just saying "well it's just a hot streak" because if so this is the greatest hot streak in the history of baseball. I can't believe that this many people are going to come here and give their half assed defense of Jason Giambi.
  6. Exactly. That's a lame arguement. If that's you're only defense for Giambi then just keep it to yourself.
  7. Speaking of Oakland, be happy you're catcher isn't Jason Kendall. He went from being one of the better defensive catcher to the worst in the league. I think runners started off the year perfect stealing against him. I think the first 30 or so guys that tried made it. I haven't see his SB/CS stats lately but I doubt they've gotten any better.
  8. Well, looks like the Yankees paid Lieter just for that one start against the Sox. It's good to see ole' Al has come back to earth and sucks again. Quantity does not equal Quality. What do the Yankees have now ... 5 completely useless pitchers? And what 2 that are worth a s***? With the Yankees pitching I'd say the Royals have as good a shot to make the playoffs. I think last night may start their long slide into 3rd, and maybe even 4th place if the O's can get back on the ball.
  9. Whenever I think about the Yankees of the 90's he's the 2nd name that pops into my head. Always seemed like a class act, and is really the definition of a "true Yankee". Not that I'll miss him, but it will certainly be strange looking at the Yankees and not seeing Bernie. I can't imagine they would actually resign him for next year. I figure he'll get some other job with the team.
  10. Welcome. You're not the first Yankee fan thats posted here, and actually we still have ... well 2 I think still posting here now. The rest ran away when the Sox took first play back. Just make sure you don't act like the other douche bag Yankee fans that have been banned here. Just be respectful, and remember that you're posting in a Red Sox forum.
  11. I think this is a great trade for the heat. They basically replace Eddie Jones 3 point shooting with Posey's, and they add another decent PG in White Chocolate. Eddie Jones was getting old, and if I'm not mistaken had a huge contract. Posey is younger, and he does more than just shoot 3s like Eddie has been known to do. How about Shaq's new contract 5 year 100mill. How many times are the Celts gonna trade Antoine? I thought they brought him back last year so he could play with Pierce again? Now he's traded again? I just don't get it.
  12. I said in my post before last that steroids don't help your BA or OBP, and they didn't for Giambi. Those numbers were steadily rising from the begining of the season. His power numbers however went from almost none to the best in the league. No this power surge couldn't have come from hard work because #1 players don't have enough time during the season to improve their skills, weight, and power that dramatically, and #2 Don Mattingly isn't Jesus Christ Jr. I thought the whole parasite thing was just a lie to cover up the roids. Guess not? Yes players do get hot and go on streaks, but they don't all the sudden go from 1 HR a month to 14. If that was the case then when Manny and Papi got hot they'd 20 HRs a month, and you don't see that happening do you? Do you? Has A-rod ever got hot and hit 14 HRs in a month? How about Matsui? Sheffield? It's funny that you would just call hitting 14HRs in a month a streak because the last time it happend for the Yankees was when the Mick(I believe) did it back in the 60's. So now you're going to tell me that these "streaks" of sudden power only come around once every 40 years? I've said it 3 times now. You're arguements are all BS until you can show me another player who has had this much of a power(and only power) surge this late in a season(not battling injuries) and I'll admit that Giambi isn't on roids. Until then, steroids are the only logical answer.
  13. 5-4 Sox on a damon single up the middle
  14. Good thing Theo used a pinch runner. Amil Brown is a former Pirate ... so that explains the error.
  15. Baseball is a game of numbers. Look at them. There is no way that this can take place unless that player used steroids. Like I said before show me one other instance of any player having this big of a spike in their power numbers(not coming back from an injury), and I'll never say that he's on steroids again.
  16. Just look at the numbers 26 to 6. I can understand someone raising their average, and their OBP steadily during a season, but no one suddely regains all their power, from 2 years ago, from the 31st of 1 month to the 1st of the next. Just doesn't happen without steroids.
  17. I don't care what you agree to, or what papers you sign. Until the deal is finalized either team can back out. If The Rockies wanted to make sure that they wouldn't get boned they should have made it a 3 team trade. Too bad ... so sad.
  18. Torii is a great player, and seems like a great guy. Really hate to see someone who gives 100% every game get injured. Hopefully he'll be back before the end of the season, because theres no way the Twinkies can win that division without him.
  19. Forget Carolyn Hughes which Sox is banging Hazell Mae.
  20. Hopefully Aaron will get released soon too.
  21. I think Manny is going to finish his career in Boston. I think he realizes that he's a sure fire HOFer now. He has nothing left to prove to anyone. So why not stay in Boston and try to win as many WS as possible. He's already a legend in RSN. Anything he does from here on out is just icing on the cake for him. Why start over when your already a legend in the best baseball town there is? I can't understand being disapointed by 30+/130+ a year ... I just don't get it. I said it before, I don't care if he takes a lawn chair out the LF with him. If he's hitting 30+/130+ he could s*** in my cereal every morning and I'd still love him.
  22. You should have said "your fired." instead of you're outta here.
  23. Well I hate Barry Bonds more than I hate anyone. I wont even get in to why I hate him. SID f***ING BREAM. There I said it. Anyway, back when people were saying Giambi was the face of steroids I couldn't help but laugh. Gimme a break. Barry is DONE. He was done when he told Pedro Gomez he was done. Thank God, he wont get to pass the white Babe Ruth(his words not mine) and Hank. He has already set the season HR record and that will proabably never be touched. Do we really want the poster boy for steroids to hold the All time HR record? I'm sick to my stomach that he's in the top 3.
  24. Heh well it's not like its 1990. I think the negative effects are well known. I mean all he'd have to do is google steroids.
  25. The first time around his life was in jeropardy.
