    Right or you could get absolutely nothing out of Matsuzaka. At least with Pierre you can look back at his carrer ... in MLB ... not some minor league ... and you know what you might get. Yes maybe you overpaid, but you know that unless something drastic happens you're going to get that kind of production. The Sox have no idea what Matsuaka could possibly do in MLB. You can say what you want about his numbers in Japan, but you have no idea what he is capable of in MLB. I'd much rather spend 45 million for 5 years of a sure thing, than 51 million for a cup of coffee with an unknown.

    Paying 45 million for 5 years of an established big league player who had to most hits in the NL last year is ridiculous ... but giving 51 million just to talk to an unproven kid is OK... ? :dunno: Such hypocrites.

    I love how money never matters until you guys want a prospect to play. Hey we can pay 51 million for a cup of coffee with some kid ... but lets not go crazy and spend 4 million a year on a 2B. Lets try and be consistant here.

    How you could doubt a guy who hit .301 in the play 2 games sit 2 weeks season he played last year is beyond me. Next season can't come fast enough. I'm not rooting for the Sox to trade WMP to a team that will actually let him play.

    Truely a shame that Jeter didn't win after leading all of baseball in being Derek Jeter. I love that ESPN can't just annonce Morneau as the winner. They have to say Morneau won, but look how close it was, and here are some stats that Jeter beat Morneau in ... soooo. f*** ESPN. f*** Jeter.

    I don't think you can count the defending champs out of that Wild Card hunt ... especially after what happened last year. I don't care how good or bad the Steelers are playing ... after last year you can't count us out till we're mathmatically eliminated ........... which may not be far off.
