  1. No way. No f***ign way in hell did that ball even come close to hitting the ground. It was very clearly a catch even watching it live. Look, you and your team got a break ... please don't try to ******** us and pretend that you wont hat game fair and square. Just accept the fact that you won 2 games in that series, either partly or wholey, based on the errors on umpires.
  2. The problem is that most of the time it's not human error. It's the umpires wanting to be part of the game. I'm so tired of umps making calls based on emotion, or the town they're in, or the situation. JUST MAKE THE RIGHT CALL. I think Selig needs to sit down with every ump in the league and let them know that they are there to make fair calls ... not do a dance routine when calling a player out ... not to make terrible calls just to get reactions from the fans .... not to throw players out just because ... YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE GAME ... JUST MAKE THE RIGHT CALLS! I am starting to get behind the Pitch Quest system(I think thats what it's called). I think every field should have one and any umpire who is off by a certain decided percentage on balls and strikes in fired. Oh and I dont see whats wrong with analyzing what umps do. Everyone that has a job knows that there is someone watching over you making sure your making the right calls, and don't screw up. It's how a job works. Infact I think umpires need to be scrutinized more by their employeer. I think they are being given way to much slack by the league.
  3. Pokey has been a fan favorite everywhere he's been. I don't really understand it but I loved him in his short stay with the pirates and his time with the sox. POKEY FOR PRESIDENT!
  4. I really hope Trot can just get through 06 healthy.
  5. I thought about the Sox adding Millwood but I just don't know. Remember he pitched his entire career in the NL, and last year was his first in the AL. Naturally he's going to look very good considering no one in the AL has seen him. Now, they have a year of scouting under their belts, so I doubt he'll be as effective next year. I wouldn't be totally against getting him, but I'm not crazy about the idea. I think the Guardians have to bring Millwood back though.
  6. Tony is the biggest douche in the history of baseball. He is, was, and will always be a HUGE douche bag. I couldn't stop laughing yesturday.
  7. Part of me wants to blaim Grady for everything, but I just can't. I don't think he really got a fair shake. His entire career was judged by 1 decision. Granted it was a big decision, but still 1 decision out of the millions he made with the Sox. The Brewers aren't really the Brewers anymore. They're spending some money now ... unlike the Pirates. If the pieces fall in place they could make a serious run at the WC next year. I think Grady would be a very good addition to a franchise that's actually building.
  8. That was a HR Derby shot by Al. I don't understand why everyone in America isn't behind the Stros. Who cares about Clemens and Pettite. Biggio deserves a ring more than anyone in the game right now, and this is probably going to be his last shot. I'm not nessicarily cheering for any team, but if someone has to win I want it to be the stros.
  9. Bringing Theo back.
  10. Theo is without a doubt the Sox biggest need this year. If he doesn't come back ... well everything goes out the window. If I owned the team I'd pay Theo whatever he wanted and gladly let him take a dump on my desk every morning. He's going to keep this team consistantly playoff bound for atleast a decade. He's too good and too young. Theo absolutly has to be at the head of the ship. That being said the low balling is understandable at this point.
  11. You guys realize soriono has no glove at all right? Everyone gets enamered with offense, but defense wins championships. Tony G has plenty of offense, and is exponentially better on defense. I want Tony G back.
  12. What do you think we are ... that Pirates!?
  13. Manny PERIOD, or we don't win.
  14. ... how can what Arod did even come close to comparing to what Nomar did. Arod stuck his arm out and stopped a kid from crossing the street ... gimmie an effing break.
  15. Look I'm not trying to say the guy is perfect, but he did a lot of things for this team that no one else on the roster could do. Next year all of his doubters are going to be eating out of his hand.
  16. Hey Mel, the Pirates are looking for a new Pitching coach
  17. Agreed. The best pitcher in the league, and one of the better pitchers of all time, can't be overhyped.
  18. I typed a big long post, but the battery on my laptop died and I lost it all, so I'll make it short. Joe is a great manager, possibly the best in the league, and firing him would be the biggest mistake of Steiny's career. Rash decisions never pay off, but hey I'm not going to complain if Steiny makes a HUGE mistake like letting Joe go.
  19. Tracy is going to regret this situation when he realizes that Pirates ownership is not going to spend any money. He said that he doesn't really know about the ownership or GM when he signed ... he really should have checked up on them first because, although Littlefield hasn't done a bad job, our owners couldn't care less about winning.
  20. Wow this isn't surprising. The biggest cry baby/fairweather city in the world turning on the owner that has brought them countless titles ... no ... I dont believe it Please NYers ... go cry some more about Steiny and the 200+ million he's putting into your team so you can win. How is it that NYers can cry about their baseball team more than Pittsburghers?
  21. That was the single worst "game changing" call I've seen since the tuck rule in the Pats/Raiders playoff game. There is no question that the catcher caught that ball, and that AJ was out. I couldn't care less who wins this series, but I am extremely pissed off that the Angels were completely screwed over. This is exactly why we need replay, so horrible umpiring doesn't cost a team.
  22. Those are the kind of things Rents did all year, but no one seemed to care, or give him any credit for them.
  23. I'm really sorry man, but don't give up. I don't know what type of cancer you have but my father survived advanced cancer in his colon last year, so don't count yourself out. The most important thing is to just stay positive. I don't really know what I could do, but if there's anything I can do please let me know. Good luck man ... just know that you can get through this.
  24. Izzy Alcantara*
  25. Yeah I started slamming my head off the desk about half way through my list and forgot some names.
