  1. Same for me, trading one of the best hitters of our generation who has a "reasonable" contract and the only reason Ortiz doesn't get walked every time, and then signing a guy that's only play 135 games plus twice at 14-17 million a year for 4 years, and then shelling out 51 million to talk with a guy that after that whats 15 million a year for 3 years that hasn't even thrown a pitch at the major league level. The Red Sox FO is a bunch of idiots right now.
  2. I fail to see how Miguel Olivo, Esteban German, Milton Bradley, Eric Byrnes, Jason Tyner, Zack Grienke, Mark Prior, and Joe Kennedy are going to be non-tenured.
  3. I'd like to see the FO go after guys like Brad Hasley, Kevin Gregg, and Gavin Floyd for the 5th starter spot and bullpen jobs, they wouldn' t cost much to get.
  4. Whose up for Joe if he gets fired this year to manage the Sox? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2006/08/girardi_on_the_.html
  5. A joke? Take out the start against the Sox, and Cabera has been nothing short of dominant since coming back from AAA.
  6. Cabera still look like a joke after his start against the Jays tonight? Complete game shutout with 10 Ks and only 2 walks?
  7. If Paps get moved to the rotation, that leaves us with no closer, since Foulke is a FA and Timlin is getting up there in years. I also don't think Hansen is ready yet. IMO we should do one of two things, the first being trading John Lester, David Murphy, and another prospect for Chris Ray, and Daniel Cabera, and I'm not that I'm saying Lester is awful, I just think Ray is a great closer and that's what we're going to need if Paps moves into the rotation, which is what I think he should do. The other option is Mike Gonzalez out of Pittsburgh, maybe Murphy and another prospect for him, he doesn't have a blown save all year (knock on wood) , and he has a fine K rate. JMO. I also think that Cabera could be a fine starter someday, with some season, he can throw 100 mph, and has been dominant at times in the A.L. East. Most of his blowup starts have come against the Red Sox anyway.
  8. I'd hafta disagree with you on that one, hands down Duke/UNC Basketball is the biggest rivalary in sports.
  9. Hey anyone got a clip of some of WMP's homers in a Boston uniform this year?
  10. Jason LaRue? Javier Valentian out of Cincy, with David Ross beasting it I'm sure we could get them.
  11. I think Kyle Snyder should definately be in the Red Sox rotation now, 4.1 innings with only 1 hit and 6 Ks against the Cleveland Guardians, not too shabby.
  12. I think Drayton McClain or whatever his name is is doing an excellent job with what he has in KC.
  13. Just me, but I think this is a very stupid trade for the Brewers, I mean very stupid, I think Gabe Gross and Cory Hart would have been much better options than Mench, as well as cheaper too, CoCo is 31 years old and his best years are behind him, and Nix is hitting 263/.316/.427 at Triple A, after batting .091 in the Majors. He's also 25 years old now too. The Brewers could have gotten alot more than they did for Lee and they got no starting pitching in the deal.
  14. He was usually the only guy on Baseball Tonight that made sense, him and Kruk made the best ones. Harold really knew what he was talking about.
