  1. First of all it wasn't just a victory over the Bengals. The Bengals came into this game thinking that they were better than the Steelers. Hell apparently the whole board and 2/3rds of the country thought that too. The Steelers didn't just win, they completely embaressed the Bengals. It's more than just us being .5 behind them ... it's a psycological edge we have over them now. Now they know that they are still the Bungals and we are still the Steelers. We went into, a Super Bowl contender's house, and dominated the game. I don't know where you got allsome from ... maybe I typed that the other day ... whatever. I don't really care what people say about him as long as their fair. Bashing him for only throwing 20 passes isn't fair. He doesn't call the plays. I just don't understand how you can bash a guy for being damn near perfect when his number is called. The reason yesturday that I said someone must be jealous is because that is the only way this makes sense. Especially considering I've yet to bash Brady or any other QB in the league for that matter. Well yeah that was a BS quote, but when everyone is jumping on your QB after he WON a f***ing game you have to defend him. I don't know what your f***ing problem is. We've had no bad blood in the past, but you really seem like your trying to pick a fight. Is it because the Texans blow? Or the Cowboys?
  2. ... getting Barry would make absolutly no sense.
  3. No I would never say that Ben is out right the best QB in the league(yet!), but he is definatly top 5. BTW jesus christ this guy is a 2nd year QB ... people judge him as though he's been in the league for 10 years.
  4. He was a rookie last year. He had the best year a rookie has ever had in NFL HISTORY. He's had a whoping 2 GAMES to prove himself in the playoffs. You guys can jump all over Ben if you want to but you really have no grounds to do so. Winning games is all that matters in the NFL, or in any sport, 18-2 ... thats all that matters ... 19-3 if you wanna count the playoffs. Him having 1 bad playoff game ... he wasn't bad against the Pats ... they were just much better ... doesn't worry me.
  5. And how many games has Brady played? And how many has ben played? I never bashed Brady, nor will I ever. The guy is flat out the best QB in the league, and has been for the last few years. DESPITE THE STATS. Everyone wants to bash ben for not throwing the ball 50 times and having huge stats, but Brady's whole career has been built on winning, and not stats. The street has to go both ways guys.
  6. I'm not going to have this argument because it's either jealousy or just bitterness that Ben is so awesome. The only thing I'll say is that all you can do as part of a team is come through when your team gives you the oppertunities to. It's not Ben's fault that we have such a great team that he doesn't need to pass much. BTW he has led 4 4th quarter comeback drives to either tie or win a game, so lets no act like he's never done anything. Say whatever you want about the guy but at the end of the day his career regular season record is 18-2. If you don't think Ben has just a little something to do with this team kicking ass over the last year and a half then you are a complete f***ing moron. and yes QB Rating is a stat but my quote was pointing to the fact that fans of the losing team always say things like ... "well we beat you in passing yards" or "or defense held you to blah blah yards". When you win a game then you can look at stats and gloat about things ... not after you get completely burried.
  7. As they say ... stats are for losers. The only stat that matters is the +1 in the W column. You can try to piss me off but it's not going to happen. The Steelers couldn't have dominated this game anymore than they did, and they couldn't have completely shut up every single bungals fan more than they did. You can go ahead and bad mouth Ben all you want but at the end of the day he's the best QB in the league according to QB Rating. If anyone thinks any team but the Steelers are winning this division then they are just kidding themselves. The Ravens were dead after week 2, and the Bungals have now come back to earth. Here's a nice stat. Bengals vs. teams under .500 - 5-0. Bengals vs. teams over .500 0-2. Hmmm ... sign of a team thats not so good?
  8. Sometime last season Tito said that ballgame will not be playing 2B anymore, because of his knees.
  9. Everyone about ready to hop off that bungals bandwagon?
  10. I guess age is the only reason you'd keep Kelly over Doug.
  11. s*** my fault. Let me pull 200 mill out of my ass and buy an NBA team. I don't understand how it is my fault that Pittsburgh doesn't have a basketball team. BTW the with the reemergence of the NHL the NBA is the forth sport ... so I could really careless if we have a team or not. I don't think this rule is directed at any specific race, and if you think that way then YOU ARE A RACIST. Did Stern say that "the black guys can't wear gold" or did he say "no one can"? There are way too many people in this country that think "Ole' Whitey" is out to get them. Ole' Whitey has been over compensatating for the mistakes of the past for decades now, yet many minorities refuse to accept that. It's time to grow up and stop crying that white people are out to get you. This is sooooooooo not a major issue, but dumb people like Stephen "I punch fans" Jackson make it one. P.S. Saying Jason Williams wants to be black, or should call himself black is also a racist statement.
  12. I guess hazing is a little more serious at the Pro level but my Freshman year of HS was the only time I really experienced hazing. The team stole the freshmans clothes and shoes after practice, and had the bus leave before we got out of the lockerroom. So we had to walk home in our uniforms and spikes ... sucked. For our local baseball team we'd just make the first year kids run extra laps for any mistakes they made during practices. BTW hazing definatly has a place in sports. I don't understand why we have to bitchitize(couldn't think of a real word) everything these days. Grow a pair of balls and take your medicine just like everyone else did.
  13. Wow what is with the entire country right now? I don't understand why everyone is in love with the Bengals. They've played 1 team that is over .500, and they lost. They've been beating up on the bottom feeders of the NFL, yet they are regarded as one of the best teams ... I dont get it. Their defense is extremely suspect, and getting worse, and if you can get pressure on Carson he's not this MVP(AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA oh god I just pissed my pants) candidate that everyone is saying he is. Ike, and Troy will bracket CJ and shut him down, and this game wont be all that close. Sunday, October 23 Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans New Orleans Saints at St. Louis Rams(anyone who picked the Rams must be crazy ... they are nothing without Bulger) San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals(The Bengals bandwagon might tip over with everyone trying to jump off at the same time after this game) San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks Buffalo Bills at Oakland Raiders Tennesse Titans at Arizona Cardinals Baltimore Ravens at Chicago Bears(I think me and any 10 posters on this board could beat the ravens right now.) Denver Broncos at New York Giants(The Giants and Eli will prove they are not forreal.) Monday, October 24 New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons(Anyone see Vick's little brother play yet this year? He can actually throw a pass)
  14. Heh this was in the Post? Yeah they have about as much credibility as my left nut.
  15. This is exactly the same situation we have with the Steelers. Players either love playing here or want out the second they get here. I think it all comes down to the type of player you are. If you want to have your ass kissed no matter what then places like Boston and Pittsburgh aren't for you. But if you can take the heat(along with taking the blame *cough* Tommy Maddox *cough*) when you make a mistake then the first place you wanna play is Boston/Pittsburgh. I believe the way we do things (fans in Boston and Pittsburgh) are the way things should be done. When you're great we'll praise you up and down and will attempt to convince everyone we know that our player is the best. When you're bad you're the worst ever, and we'll try to convince everyone of that. It's not that we're cold blooded, it's comes down to the fact that we have an emotional attachment to our teams. They're are part of our extended family, and all we want is for them to succeed I'm happy that I get to live in Pittsburgh with the best football fans in the world, and get to cheer for the Red Sox with the best baseball fans in the world. I wouldn't want it any other way. We shouldn't change a thing.
  16. I think you're seriously underestimating the talent in Cleveland. Hafner and Seizmore and going to be all stars next year. I agree that it's not enough, but if you throw in any type of pitching I could see it as a deal that Theo would have to atleast consider. I don't think Cleveland would even consider taking on Manny's contract though. They've built a very nice (cheap)team, a team that is young, and a team that will grow together. I don't see them wanting to trade 2-4 good to great young pieces for Manny.
  17. I believe much of Contreras' promblems in NY were due to him tipping his pitches. Before the game he started against us in the playoffs they made mention of past stats, but then said that he used to tip his pitches then, and doesn't now.
  18. If I'm picking who I want to go in the World Series this year, and not to build a team it'd be; 1. Oswalt 2. Clemens 3. Pettite 4. Contreras 5. Buehrle
  19. I know that is just a joke but it's actually an example of what fueled the fire for me in the giambi thread. Saying that theres a chance the Yankees knew about the steroid use of Giambi, and Sheffield makes sense because they both used them. But your example, as in the Giambi thread, has no backing what so ever. BTW just because there was no speculation in the media doesn't mean that coaches, managers, GMs, and owners didn't know who was using roids and who wasn't.
  20. I don't understand all this talk of "replacing" Manny. He cannot be replaced. When Papi gets to the plate pitchers/catchers/managers have to decide; face the most dangerous hitter in baseball, or a HOFer, maybe the second most dangerous hitter in baseball. If you take Manny out of that equation then the decision is much easier. Papi, or Konerko ... come on now. I know this offense is great, but what Manny brings in presence alone cannot be replaced.
  21. ... WTF!? So just because black guys his age wear chains Stern banning them is racist? Steven Jackson I knew you were a moron, but wow ... you are a f***ING MORON. You do understand that people of every race wear gold chains right? You do understand that your race is not the only one that does this right? You also realize that your comment was more racist than Stern's rule right? Have you see Jason Williams? I believe he has more jewlery than half the NBA ... AND HE'S WHITE! Shut your cry baby ass up and go beat up some more fans you punk ass moron. Stephen Jackson and everyone who thinks like him should be shot.
  22. I think Oswalt may be the best in the game.
  23. GO STROS! I now look at the Chisox much like I did with the Pats after that one faitful BS call during their first SB run. I developed a strong hatred for the team, because they didn't deserve to play in the big game. I'm definatly starting to feel that hatred for the Chisox. I hope the stros sweep.
  24. Well you make it sound like Ca$hman would never do something like that. I mean he did acquire Giambi and Sheffield remember. Not saying he knew about any of their use, but it's possible.
  25. Have you guys completely ignored everything Damon has said since the topic of his signing was first brought up this year. He's not going to be back soley based on the fact that he wants a 5-6 year contract. Forget about having him anywhere near Boston unless he comes down. BTW if people complain that Manny is overpaid wait until they see Beltran. We'd basically be paying him Manny money to lead off. Totally not worth it.
