  1. Moss was named the MVP of the Eastern League Series Playoffs. The Sox have decided against calling him up. Instead he will be sent home to rest up then play in the Dominican Fall League There is speculation that realtively unknown Double A Portland starting pitcher Devern Hansack could get called-up this week http://www.portlandseadogs.com/cgi-bin/dist/roster.cgi?player=1144161970 Hansack won the deciding game of the series by throwing 8 strong innings, giving up 3 runs 2006 season: 8-7, 3.26 ERA (31 games, 18 starts) 132.1 innings, 122 Hits, 55 Runs (48 ER), 14 HRs, 124 Ks, 36 Walks
  2. That would be correct EDIT: In the end, the player of the game was Coco Crisp who is trying to end his first season as a Sox positively. This was the Sox/Yankees game I have been looking forward to seeing him making a great impact on.
  3. First Sox sweep of a DH vs the Yankees since '76, first at Yankee Stadium since '73
  4. Wakefield vs Garza Schilling vs Bonser Beckett vs Santana
  5. alright Timlin, continue to bounce back to end the season at least on a good note 3 out of 4 in 2 days from Yankees at Yankee Stadium looks like little consolation, but I'll gladly take it
  6. Mark "Bill Mueller" Loretta knocks in another clutch RBI late in a game
  7. Crisp, a 3 hit game corners, no outs-- Loretta, Ortiz up next
  8. Pena with 1st pitch rips a double to right field I remember seeing his picture in the front office at Haverhill high school
  9. Loretta ends it with a thrifty double play Pena (I guess Youk cant pinch hit tonight, right?) Crisp Loretta --Ortiz if anyone gets on base offense, make it so
  10. Coco god damn I think I love ya!!!!!!!!!
  11. And yet who knows if the tying run scores if pedroia doesnt have a long AB against Myers.
  12. bullpen keep it the way it is, Ortiz is lined up to bat 4th
  13. woo varitek, at least u salvaged what was looking like another inning with no runs despite first 2 men reaching
  14. original choke job, i wouldve rather liked to see trot still bat against Myers
  15. yeaa sox never get bad calls against them Any Yankee fans willing to actually agree with the home plate umpire's strike calls against Ortiz?
  16. Since yesterday contained of 1 thread for the D.H., I'll do the same for today Jarvis vs Mussina is a tall order for the Sox to overcomne, maybe they can come out of New York with some pride that they just took 3 out of 4 in 2 days at Yankee Stadium
  17. ho-hum Pedroia continues to show signs of life as the hitter I have heard/seen about in the minors. Murphy's swing is connecting faster than I tought it would against big league pitching. Id like to see Snyder kept on next season as the long man/spot starter, and Bryan Corey at least deserves an invite to spring training.
  18. He wont last long as Sox manager, pinch hitting decisions isnt the only big flaw he has. Im guessing a new manager by 08
  19. Damn Brandon Moss
  20. Jus thought Id start up this game thread The Sox currenly lead 1-0 thanks to Murphy's 1st career HR
  21. Its kind of obvious Pedroia wont really have that much of a big HR season. Maybe he could have a couple of 10-15 HR seasons 23 years old 1 month in the majors Kid, in Boston, you have to really light it up or you'll see how the impatient fans will write you off so quickly.
  22. Its all about patience, something you cant be able to sustain. It was his first full season in the majors as a starter
