  1. dude i wish he was only up to 36 strikeouts. he had another mult-strikeout game last nite strikeing out twice. he has for the second straight season, a major league leading 81 strikeouts, not even halfway this season.
  2. riight we will be looking up at the yankees come tomorrow, huh? sweep of the 9 game winning streak Guardians, outscoring them 24 - 15. tampa bay with worst road record of majors, so far taking 2 out of 3 from your guys. it appears this is how the standings are Baltimore...42 - 29 Boston...41 - 30...1.0 game behind NY...37 - 34...5.0 games behind Toronto...36 - 36...6.5 games behind Tampa Bay...25 - 47...17.5 games behind woohoo go Tampa Bay tonite, take 3 out of 4 like you did in beginnin of the season
  3. with bostons win tonite, and baltimore losing against toronto, we pull within one game now of tying for 1st place
  4. Great comeback. yeah how about tha comeback... as the yankees did today what theyve been doin all season, have a great win and then drop another game
  5. hmm, i was watchin pre game on nesn just now. chris snow from the boston globe was asked about dustin pedroia who has now been promoted to triple AAA and is switchin positions from short stop to 2nd base. He quoted with Mark Bellhorn in his last season of his current contract, he is only batting in the 220's and has major league leading strikeout count at 79 currently. that pretty much come 2006, dustin pedroia is a contender to take over second base
  6. wait end of july when trades will heat up, ill drop to teh floor if i hear embree is not traded off. im hoping we get lance cormier from the diamondbacks, him as a relief pitcher this season is doing so good, ERA is currently under 2
  7. um kotsay is quite a contender for the sox as damon has been quoting since last season that at the end of 2005 his contract is up, and he is askin for a long term contract, if sox dont meet his demands, he might either retire or move on to another team. sad i know, but good sox are keepin their eyes open just in case
  8. god first game at fenway of the 2012 season, can ya imagine how hard it will get a ticket for that one. what a great experience that will be, ringin the 100th bday celebration. heres hopin ill have lucj and money to get a chance for that
  9. yeah mussina, tino martinez, and robinson cano are several of the large roster i actually somewhat like. i cant believe the season robinson cano is performing in his rookie season. them slottin him in tony womack's old position, ya know him goin off to another team is lookin more certain. i heard padres will be lookin to get him next month
  10. if jay payton wants to be traded, i kinda dont want to see him go. what can i say, been most productive as a backup at 4 homeruns, 19 runs batted in. cant blame him though for wanting to be a starter. Rumors were that Arizona are interested in him. Fingers crossed that if the sox make the trade, they should get relief pitcher Lance Cormier, nice fill in for embree for god hes not cutting it at all. First batter he faces in the 8th, he hits him, somethin you dont want to do in a scoreless game, i can admit now that times he is called up i get worried, especially in a tied game. Lance Cormier in his relief spot this season has been doin very well posting a nice ERA of like 2.45
  11. what will the fate be for the newest team startin in the process of being made in Las Vegas, which would take a spot in the American League West division. call it the las vegas high rollers or something, lol
  12. not sure but if they did, wouldnt mind the sox gettin relief pitcher lance cormier in return. close to halfway thru the season, hes nettin a nice ERA of 2.45
  13. will the devil rays have a winning season someday actually in the near future, maybe if they do get some veteran players and raise the salary cap a little. so far out of the first 67 games, record stands at 23 - 44. who else thinks is another season of around 100 games lost
  14. we still won, so at 3 games ahead of the yanks. baltimore is at top slightly with us noe trailing by 2 games. they must be in a slide if rockies hold them to one run, and baltimore had actually stranded 11 batters. 2 times were bases loaded, but bothtimes brian roberts grounded out into double plays Baltimore 39 - 27 Boston 37 - 29 2.0 games behind Yanks 34 - 32 5.0 games behind Toronto 34 - 33 5.5 games behind Tampa 23 - 44 16.5 games behind
  15. was i the only one gettin annoyed by remy kept goin on with that joke of him doin the sounds of the game. *whistle* cmon johnny here we go johnny, "hey theres papa jack going **whistle** cmon papi here we go now"
  16. hey sox fan girl i do take back what i had said about bellhorn, was just merely implying his strikeouts are in everybodys minds when he steps up to the plate. and at times we do need him he will send out a sacrifice fly, draw a walk while workin the opposing pitcher's count high, and even home runs like in game 6 against the yanks or last nite's 3 run shot into the bullpen. just hopin for the best for him to produce like he did last nite, offensively and defensively
  17. i really do like what jay payton brings to the table when he serves as backup, doin good so far this season with 4 homeruns and 19 runs batted in. I think Sox had signed him as a safety net in case what happened to trot only bein limited to 48 games last season. Maybe jay payton could be traded to another team for a new relief pitcher as alan embree's days in boston are lookin truely hazy, dont get me wrong i respect him wholeheartedly. in the beginnin in the season he was called upon every 2 or 3 games that go by, so far its been since the 10th of june that we lost to the cubs. in that last game he pitched in, gave up 5 hits and 3 earned runs Even if payton stays with the sox and damon does indeed unfortuantely leave for another team, payton would still be used as a backup cuz he doesnt have the speed prowress that damon holds to himself. still holdin out hope damon signs a long term contract to stay with the sox, just best to not worry about it until end of 05 which will the decision will then come :dunno:
  18. know this is not new news, i just still admire the fact that boston had signed a long term contract to keep the sox in fenway park till 2030 or so. By that time it will be around 120 years, givin it sound reason to become protected by historical society and become a museum of sorts when the sox do some day move out of fenway.
  19. red sox sure do have a bigger fan calling. even not countin this season as now world champs that they are. the red sox have sold out like 180 consecutive games datin back to end of 2003 and will continue to do that for years to come i can imagine. even tho baltimore has been doing very good, most games have been like a ghost town in camden yards, sellin half of the capacity
  20. the all-star bret boone, rumors have been goin around that he could be put up for trade offers next month. hed be an excellent fill in at second base, not much of a strikeout casulaty that bellhorn is. contrast and comapre time, bellhorn is at 73 strikeouts in the first 65 games, while johnny damon is only at 26. sure ortiz and manny have each 50 strikeouts or so, byt no analysts look at their strikeouts, cuz unlike bellhorn they are able to be power hitters. a note of interest, the sweep of the reds that boston had over 30 hits. bellhorn was only player to go hitless none the less. bellhorn, thanks for the memories you gave us last season, but i think its time to bid adieu if this continues. same goes for embree
  21. aj burnett would be a great asset to the pitchin rotation which so far, **knock on wood**, has gotten 4 consecutive great starts from our boys. aside from that, couple of players of the sox that havent been cutting it consistently would be mark bellhorn whos batting average has dropped to 235, and now stands at 73 strikeouts for the season, again leadin the majors. i respect fully what embree and bellhorn did last season to get the big win. however im sure theo is noticing is the same thing, come august we could be seein a new 2nd baseman, rumors bret boone ((step up from bellhorn)) could be traded off, and a new relief picther...
