  1. Starting to hear more & more boos Julian Tavarez's & Youkilis' complaints of the fans booing was a laughable read.
  2. Scott Boras himself: The Sox were never in accordance willing to agree to a 5 year contract with Damon. While close to signing with the Yankees, Boras contacted the Sox and said there was a 5 year deal on the table. John Henry was just not willing to commit a 5 year deal. Bora s was just doing what he is best at-- cheat, lie and try to get teams adding on bids
  3. I think their offense is more at fault big time, 7 straight games so far they have scored 3 runs or less, a ridculous stat since the All-Star Break as well. Ortiz & Manny are back to being the only offense this team has. Honestly also about complaining about their pitching woes-- Clement hurt since June, Wakefield hurt since July, Lester out indefinitely from cancer, Schilling is questionable for rest of the season. How could they not turn to cheap trades for bad starting pitchers? Its not like these September games mean anything, its a pipe dream if they still have hope.
  4. The revolving door for pathetic starting pitchers has been installed for them to get their chance against the Red Sox. Perez is in line to be yet another this season to establish a season high in strikeouts in so little time, while facing this "powerhouse" offense" The offense continues to be erratic.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5184/career;_ylt=Arzblq75R8tDr1dIy52JmFuFCLcF 37 year old journeyman who the Sox got in a cheap trade with the D-backs. Boston is his 10th team in his 13 year career.
  6. Kansas City (52-89) at Boston (75-65) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_136602.jpg Odalis P?rez 5-7, 6.43 ERA 63 Ks, 26 Walks, 15 HRs http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_116496.jpg Kevin Jarvis 0-2, 9.37 ERA 9 Ks, 7 Walks, 2 HRs
  7. Michael Bowden followed suit and had a solid start in the playoffs for Wilmington
  8. Dustin Pedroia was never included in trade rumors surrounding those 3 players. The only site I heard about trading Pedroia for Smoltz was on this site, posters doing fantasy baseball. Apparently a Memo to Sox Prospects-- Kid if you cant get it done in your first season, you'll never get it done
  9. Meredith wasnt as high as some would like to think, top 15 probably, but not close to the top 5 at the time he was traded. No one even expected for him to have that type of season in San Diego this year. About Beckett-- Ask any team FO if they have the opportunity to acquire a 26 year old "ace-like" starting pitcher who was the World Series MVP against the Yankees when he was just 23, theyd be lying if they said "I have to think about it"
  10. Just wanted to ask Yankee fans something Melky Cabrera has shown me and many others that he can be able to hold down a starting outfielder slot. Dont you think it would be best for him, and possibly his career, if he was moved to where he could get that full playing time he deserves while New York could get a nice package in return? Currently under contract for 07 are Matsui, Damon, Abreu, and Sheffield who's option is apparently set to be picked up
  11. Keep in mind this, at the time: Lester was the most sought out top pitching prospect the Sox had, every team was asking for him. Thats why the Sox gave Anibal to Florida. Course still time for Beckett to get used to the AL, number of starts he has shown flashes of of brilliance for hope.
  12. Headline here is that it is known Theo (outside or inside the FO) was not approving of the trade because he wanted to retain the young talent in Hanley & Anibal
  13. hey word is national league, he is doing all this in the national league Sorry its just hard to understand hoiw your blasting this trade, acting like Bronson is a Curt Schilling in the making. In the AL East he would be considered nothing more than a 5th starter Wait a second, so if the Sox didnt trade Bronson... we would right now be getting ready for October? Step by step analysis please on how his presence would beset the vast injuries that has happened from June through today, extended DLs for Coco & Trot (who fills in for them) Basically our September rotation would look like this if Arroyo was still on board. Keep in mind Schilling's season is starting to be in doubt Beckett Arroyo Snyder Gabbard Tavarez Go get em boys!!
  14. You cant just assume Arroyo would be the #2 guy this season. It is plausible he would have a 4.50-5 ERA in the AL East. And he has not proven that he can win in nyc, he sucked against the yankees (regular season & playoffs)
  15. Lets just wait for Wily Mo's first full season as a starter for the Sox to say if Theo bombed on acquiring him.
  16. Wily Mo was set to be Cincinatti's starting left fielder this season... --They already had another good hitting outfielder in Austin Kearns to compensate for the loss of Wily Mo --Their greatest need was starting pitching, enter the Red Sox who during spring training had 7 starting pitchers. Personally I believe Clement shouldve been dealt but his ridculous contract stood in the way
  17. He would be playing right now, but Trot is one of Tito's player crushes. Its obvious Wily Mo is the better hitter this season just a little exaggeration on your part, no one said on here they expect him to burst out and have those type of numbers. We are talking about him replacing the oft-injured Trot, up in the air who will replace Manny in left field, and if possible a link to post where someone projected he would hit even close to .390? What I think: With help from Papa Jack, Ortiz & Manny- he could cut down on his tough swings at pitches out of the zone, building at least little bit more patience Still deliver a good avg, .280 - .300+ In full season, is capable of having a 30+ HR/100+ RBI season
  18. Freddy Sanchez & Mike Gonzalez for Jeff Suppan

  20. Just was thinking since Ellsbury continues to climb up the ladder fast, the Sox really just need a stop gap center fielder for 2007 really. Thoughts on Sox keeping Coco around for 2007 or signing Jim Edmonds to like a 2 year deal? Hey Id like Andruw Jones or Vernon Wells too. But especially Toronto, both teams will want more than a package of Crisp, Hansen, and Delcarmen. Bet anything this oiffseason teams will be asking for Ellsbury, Bucholz, or Bowden
  21. Not much reason for Sox to scour free agents in the 2b/ss category. At 2nd it will be Pedroia (a chance, but small chance that Sox are able to resign Loretta to 1 year deal), at shortstop it will be either Gonzo or Julio Lugo Sorry the site is also not working for me
  22. Youd be surprised. Some guy at my work accused me of not being a Sox fan for saying they were done, this coming after the sweeps by Seattle & Oakland
