  1. Thats the key term when Doug Gabriel & Chad Jackson are healthy. Ben Watson should become the top receiver this season for Brady.
  2. Tavarez (3 starts) 14.2 innings, 16 Hits, 8 Runs, 1 HR, 5 Walks, 13 Ks The K rate is really impressing me from Tavarez. The innings dont look like much just because of his first start against Toronto, where he only lasted 3 innings. With Schilling?? & Wakefield set to retun this week, he's at least earned to start one of the DH games at Yankee Stadium on Saturday
  3. His slide started during late June. If there's no market for him to be a starting outfielder anywhere (Washington was considered at one time as most interested), maybe Sox could resign him as a 4th outfielder.
  4. oh well, i guess heres the matchups for today. Wily Mo Pena hit an RBI single, his 40th RBI of the season
  5. I thought the Patriots would get mind off of the Sox, but blah theyre only reminding me of how the Sox have played
  6. Yea but another team is likely to offer him more money, and guaranteed more playing time
  7. doesnt he paint a nice picture of what he thinks the 2007 season should be A700, Loretta is only likely to stay with Boston if they offer him abritration. Cant see the Sox offering him a 2+ year deal. Which is what some opposing teams will offer to him
  8. *cough* Wily Mo *cough* Back to sitting on the bench I see. If the wind was blowing out toward center field, his ground rule double wouldve def been a pinch hit 3-run HR About Portland, good seeing this Sox team as well as the GCL make it to the playoffs and succeed. Also good to hear that Kottaras hadnt wasted any time and delivered a 2-run HR in one of the recent games
  9. Eh I think if Timlin was still his old self, it doesnt make them a playoff team. Look at the rotation, rest of bullpen, Tito's managing skills (how did I know Wily mo Pena would be back to the bench once Trot returned? ), offense not getting anything done even with return of big boppers EDIT: On another subject, it looks like (knock on wood) that Beckett is turning things around. He really hasnt been "Wayback Beckett" or ORS's "Nuke Laloosh" the past month. Since his 3 HR game vs Cleveland on August 3, he has given up 2 count them 2 HRs. I believe he's turning a new leaf. Something positive here is that last night was his team leading 30th start of the season, setting a new career high for himself. He also has 3 more starts to eclipse the 200 inning mark, he is currently at 184 Past 4 starts-- 1-2, ND last night 26 innings, 22 Hits, 10 Runs, 1 HR, 9 Walks, 13 Ks Anyone know how to calculate ERA?
  10. Highlights of the night... Being at Fenway first hand to see Dusty's 1st career HR. Boy was it a HR, up and over the monster. His firts multi-hit game as well. Hoping this is start of his turn-around Beckett still gave a solid performance. When your starting pitcher goes 8 innings, giving up 4 runs against the Royals, you just expect to win Um there was a fight nearby me, 2 skeezy guys when at it. ---------- Now for the s*** list DeMarlo Hale-- You dont send Lowell (from 2nd) home with the bases loaded & 2 outs when Belli singles right to David DeJesus (one of the best at throwing runners out) Disappearance of Sox offense-- No excuses after Youk led off inning with double/no outs, you get him hom Tito-- Trot might not be the best against lefties but it was obvious to everyone in the f***ing ballpark that you dont pinch hit Gabe Kapler in a game winning situation
  11. Yea its weird, no one-had filled in for me during the draft. I forgot to ask my brother in law to do so. Maybe it was just from me editing my pre-draft rankings, other than that its hard to understand.
  12. Dont forget the pre-David Ortiz, Mr. Mo Vaughn
  13. My fantasy football team. With my work schedule changing I had missed out on the draft, still put together a good team QB- Tom Brady RB- Reuben Droughns RB- Chris Brown, Titans WR- Terrell Owens (Guy is a jackass but I love the way he speaks on the field) WR- Larry Fitzgerald WR- Andre Johnson TE- Jason Witten, Cowboys K- Jay Feely DEF- Indianapolis Bench Brett Favre Nate Burleson Keyshawn Johnson Chester Taylor, RB, Vikings Marcedes Lewis, TE, Jaguars
  14. Wagner's stock has dropped considerably with the acquisition of George Kottaras, and his medioce showing since being promoted to Single-A Wilmington 17 games- .169 avg, .243 obp, 4 Doubles, HR, 5 RBIs, 8 Runs, 7 Walks 2006 season (combined stats) 113 games- .281 avg, .364 obp, 36 Doubles, Triple, 8 HRs, 50 RBIs, 57 Runs, 49 Walks, SB
  15. http://soxprospects.com/players/images/doubront.felix.jpg final season stats with Single-A Lowell 2-0, 4.91 ERA (2 starts) 11 innings, 7 Hits, 6 Runs, 1 HR, 3 Walks, 7 Ks 2006 season (combined stats) 4-3, 2.92 ERA (13 starts) 64.2 innings, 48 Hits, 23 Runs (21 ER), 7 HRs, 16 Walks, 43 Ks
  16. Ryan Phillips' ending stat line for the 2006 season in Single A-Wilmington: 2-8, 3.26 ERA (16 starts) 80 innings, 69 Hits, 39 Runs (29 ER), 5 HRs, 40 Walks, 75 Ks
  17. The Lowell Spinners season has ended, closing a promising first start in pro-baseball for Paps' little brother. 25 appearances-- 0-2, 13 saves, 1.86 ERA 29 innings, 22 Hits, 12 Runs (6 ER), 6 Walks, 36 Ks
  18. Teams I'll root for National League-- Mets/Padres American League-- Twins/Tigers
  19. hey im a die hard Sox fan, and I can knowingly admit that there is no hope for this team to come back. What is showing for us to "keep the faith"? Their offense even with papi & Manny back, just isnt good The starting rotation is looking bleak They have no bullpen. Timlin the best guy they have, and thats not saying a lot Wait till next year, in meantime go Patriots!!
  20. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20060819/i/r3618732330.jpg Timlin thanks for yet another loss this season. Dear god when are Don & Jerry gonna stop scoreboard watching in hopes of this team making the playoffs?
  21. Timlin continues to inch closer to punching out his time card as a Red Sox
  22. :ortiz: 4 RBI game, welcome back papi-- HR short of a cycle
