  1. Who cares what anyone writes, or what the rest of the country, including NY thinks. I'm happy.
  2. Eat at the Cask and Flagon behind the Wall before going in. The atmosphere on the day of a game is all Sox. Then enter at the Yawkey Way gate and stroll the street before going in. If you get to Boston early try to take a Fenway tour, you can get tickets at the souvenir store on Yawkey Way or the ticket window at Fenway. One of the best ways to see the city is to take a duck boat tour. It leaves from the Prudential Center mall and it's about 90 minutes long.
  3. As bad as Bellhorn is, Alex Cora is NOT the answer.
  4. Millar is in the Bellhorn zone.
  5. This is ridiculous. The Sox should be pounding Leiter
  6. Excellent wall placement along the line.
  7. Tito will most likely bench Trot for a second game with Leiter on the mound. The guy slams 5 RBI's Friday night and then gets to sit out two games and watch Millar play in right. Nixon has not hit well against leftys in past years but his average against leftys this year is up to 270 with an OBP of 341. That's better than Millar's numbers against leftys, 235 avg, 300 OBP. I'm sick and tired of Tito playing this lefty/righty stat game when a guy like Trot is swinging a hot bat.
  8. This may signal the beginning of the end for Bellhorn with Tito starting to pinch hit for him. It's a safe bet he won't be back next year. The problem is, who else plays second. I know Pedroia is good but promoting him after a couple months in triple A may wind up making him the team's new strikeout leader. Theo could make a move, but they need bullpen help first. Aside for the occasional homer, just keep praying for walks.
  9. Bob Watson strikes again.
  10. Pedroia's time is coming. Rushing him to the bigs I don't think is the answer. As it stands now, he won;t even get a full season of triple A. He'll probably get a September call up and might be in spring training next year with the Sox. I would have thought Theo might have made an effort to get Brett Boone.
  11. The Fox gun had Schill topping out at 92. Gonzalez did great. Svuem was terrible. Trot did not deserve to be benched for Millar. If Tito has no faith in Trot against lefty's at least he has come to his senses and has started pinch hitting for Bellhorn.
  12. Nice splitter from Schill, so far.
  13. Wow, a pinch hitter for Bellhorn. Way to go Tito.
  14. Time to score some runs.
  15. Sveum must now think every centerfielder can throw like Baldelli.
  16. McCarver is a total idiot. Hearing the popping glove in the bullpen doesn't tell a pitcher he is doing poorly, it's watching all those runners cross homeplate right in front of him that tell him he's not doing well. I can't stand listening to these two.
  17. Clement seemed to have a decent cutter early and then he just loses it. Put a pitching machine out there, at least it will throw strikes.
  18. That is a tough bunch to choose from. I'd love to see Embree have a good second half, but it's hard to imagine at this point. Wells seems to show signs of improving, his walks are down, and he's tossing a good curve lately. I'm guessing Wells comes up with some big wins down the stretch. Millar's bat may get hot for a couple of weeks, but I don't know if he has any more magic left to turn his season around.
  19. The NY media is paid to listen to him spout his ignorant rants, and frankly they may be unerpaid for that job. Interetsing how he makes headlines on the off days. He seems to know just when he can get his name in the NY papers. He moves his mouth quicker than he waves his bat. Lucky for him people in NY care about what he says. I really couldn't care less. Pitch him tight inside, spot breaking pitches away and make him sit down.
  20. Tito locks up home field. I still couldn't root for Rivera.
  21. I don't think anyone doubts Foulke's heart, but if he knew they were physical problems he could have had this fixed weeks ago and we'd be writing about his return now. Instead, a deal may have to be made to find a pitcher. We all won't forget last year, but this is Boston. Every player who comes here knows the rewards are great, but the fall can be crushing. This is a new race and they can't give games away, especially in the 9th inning. I hope he's better and I'll cheer him when he comes back, but he also has to get hitters out.
  22. Even with alot of home games in the second half, there are two big road trips. The ten game trip in late August to Det, LAA, and KC, the four games in Anaheim could hurt, and the KC series is one they'll need a sweep, anything less would be regrettable. Then a six game trip in September to NY and Toronto, Halladay will be back in the rotation by then. The NY series at Fenway to end the season could be an all-out war with the winner taking the division and the loser missing out on the wild card.
  23. I don't think Olerud is the answer playing everyday. I agree with Schillingis thenatural and let Ortiz start at first and double switch him to DH later and let Olerud play first. Big Papi has shown some flash at first and may not be as bad as people think. Then they are free to deal Millar.
  24. Pathetic. As far as I'm concerned Tito got this series started off wrong by putting up a triple A lineup on Thursday and giving a game away. Way to cool off the bats Tito.
