  1. I’m surprised that the Sox actually see some hope that Johnson can regain his pitching. From what I’ve seen it’s going to take more work to restore him than refurbishing some of the hoopties on “Pimp My Ride”. Good luck.
  2. You are correct. From 6-20-2001
  3. Ripped from Extra Bases on boston.com Doesn’t Johnson have to clear waivers first? I wouldn’t be surprised if he did, but I never saw it listed as an official team transaction.
  4. Is this the end of the Johnson experiment? Can we read between the lines and assume he’s either been put on waivers or DFA’d? The “undisclosed reason” suggests something along those lines.
  5. MVP-- Paps (I think a lights out closer wins more games than a position player, so I didn't vote for Papi.) Comeback Pitcher-- Schilling Comeback Position Player-- Lowell Cy Young-- Paps Best Glove -- Gonzo Best Catch-- Crisp vs Mets on 6/29 Biggest Disappointment of a Pitcher -- Clement Biggest Disappointment of a Position Player -- Varitek
  6. Yup you’re correct. Except Trot's HR was in the 7th.
  7. That was the best one IMO as the Sox played a textbook game.
  8. Thanks…I thought it was up at the end of this season. I’ll edit my other post.
  9. With a half season to use as a basis, I’m wondering what everyone’s opinion is with Beckett on two points: 1. How do you think he’s adjusted to pitching in the AL? 2. What kind of contract (if any) should the Sox offer him when his expires?
  10. I thought it was strange that Gonzo wasn’t given the start today, considering he went 4 for 4 in the previous game on Friday. Instead Tito gives Cora the start, and he has a great game as well with 2H, 1BB, and 2SB. I’m wondering if maybe Tito deserves some extra credit with how he has platooned Gonzo and Cora this year with setting up favorable matchups, because both are having standout seasons offensively.
  11. This thread had been dormant for over 2 weeks now. Rightfully so as Seanez hasn’t pitched since June 30th. Obviously Rudy has fallen out of favor with Tito, and for good reason. With the younger guys like MDC and Hansen getting used more and more in close situations it makes you wonder just what Seanez future is with the Sox. Riv’s original proposal that started this thread, made way back on May 4th, that Seanez would be cut by July 31st seems very realistic now.
  12. Good pic on Yahoo from today http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060708/capt.bf6d45ec2b284baf9a1e96ccba2a9dfe.red_sox_white_sox_baseball_cxs103.jpg
  13. I likes wins where you can these emoticons::ortiz: :papelbon:
  14. Good bye Thome. :papelbon:
  15. Lopez, Trot, and Hansen coming up big in the 7th.
  16. LOOGY Lopez strikes out Thome.
  17. Tito pulling off his Grady Little impersonation quite well today.
  18. Umm…time to go to the pen, please.
  19. Props to Cora and the good day he’s having.
  20. That was maybe one of Belli’s best AB’s this season.
  21. It seems like Beckett is making any adjustments today…repeating the same mistakes and getting burned.
  22. All I can say is f***.
  23. Papi increases his pre-ASB homerun count to 31.
  24. How many time this year has Beckett given up multiple HR’s to the same batter in the same game?
