    Traditionally the AS Break is considered the halfway point in the season, but today’s game marked the middle of the Sox, coming in with a 50-31 record. Same for the Yankees finishing today with a 46-35 record, 4 games behind the Sox. The Blue Jays have a 46-36 record going into tonight. So with the Wild Card looking more and more that it will be coming out of the AL Central this year, how many wins will it take to win the AL East?

    I can’t believe how the Sox offense has been so weak against LH starters Willis and Fossum. Kazmir was brilliant, but Fossum?

    Sounds like the heckler has targeted Loretta. Apparently he’s got it in for Sox 2nd basemen.

    On the NESN pregame Clement’s rehab outing in the GCL was discussed. He was hit in the foot by a comebacker to the mound. He finished out the 1st inning but was pulled after throwing only two pitches in the 2nd. Apparently he’s still experiencing cramping in his shoulder and arm. Yet another setback…seriously what is his future?

    I’m glad the Sox are looking into the Latin market, and it makes perfect sense from a monetary point of view. No doubt it’s a lot cheaper than trying to sign domestic players.

    So they opened the academy (I’m assuming to attract young talent) but haven’t been able to attract or develop or sign anyone? Or they simply chose not to?

    I don’t understand how the Sox haven’t been active in the Latin market, especially when they built the baseball academy in the DR.

    You have to give Joe Girardi credit on the level of play he gets from his players. With a ridiculously low payroll the Marlins were by far the toughest NL opponent that the Sox faced in interleague play.

    I wonder if Tavarez had any follow ups to their hit like “I Should Only Be Used For One Inning” or “Don’t Use Me In High Leverage Situations”…

    Kind of a sloppy game, but a win nonetheless. I’m still confused by the way Tavarez was used today.

    It’s been reported that Manny is nursing a sore knee. With the game well in hand, I can see why Tito took him out of the game.
