  1. NESN showed a list of Manny’s milestone hits. He’s averaged ~500 hits every 3 years.
  2. Thanks...that would be cool though, 2000 career HR's
  3. And the Sox win, regaining their 4 game lead in the East. Manny with his 2000th career hit, and Gonzo extends his hit streak to 11 games. Sucks the errorless streak ended at 17 games. Edit: Fixing my earlier mistake and Papi with his 22nd multi HR game with 2 bombs tonight.
  4. LOOGY Lopez in the game for the 8th.
  5. It wouldn’t hurt to have Willie Harris come in and get some playing time, maybe spell Trot.
  6. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kapler in for Manny now.
  7. Lowell leads the league in doubles now.
  8. Manny knocks it out instead, 10-1 Sox.
  9. Anyone notice that MFY and Tor are now tied in the standings? They’re slowly starting to scare the crap out of me, considering the way they’ve killed the Sox this season.
  10. Dammit finally Remy asks Theo about looking for pitching and what’s available, and the inning ends. I’d like to have heard Theo’s response.
  11. That inning had UGLY written all over it.
  12. Nice K for Wake. Settle it down.
  13. HanRam has become a Red Sox pest.
  14. Mirabelli kills the errorless streak…s***.
  15. He’s not banned, but with his book, TV appearances, and all, he is persona non grata in ML baseball. Most of all the crap you hear from him these days is a publicity stunt. Can you imagine bringing your kids to the ballpark in hopes that maybe he’ll autograph a copy of “Juiced”?
  16. Tough call with Manny’s success vs. Moehler, but I’m guessing that Manny doesn’t start today, Youk in LF, and Papi at 1B. If Manny’s record prevails then maybe Youk doesn’t start.
  17. Hansen wasn’t bad either. He threw strikes and kept it down and avoided trouble.
  18. Weaver...That’s all the Sox need is another headcase pitcher who would probably crumble in the atmosphere and limelight of playing in Boston. If Snyder, Clement, and Boomer weren’t all possibilities I say yes, but not now. Why not give Johnson at least one or two more starts? I think they’d be against the D-Rays and KC. If he still continues to suck ass then DFA him. I think it’s likely that a few more similar scrap heaps like Weaver will be available before the end of July.
  19. Johnson’s pitching kind of set the tone for this loss. Hard to blame him completely when you face one of the best lefties in the NL and only score 2 runs. Not to mention the Marlins have been one of the best teams vs. the AL this month. The bullpen and the defense did what they had to do, but everything else for the Sox didn’t.
  20. No doubt about it, Johnson’s first 2 innings s*** the bed completely, but he did settle it down for the last two. It had been 11 days since he had last pitched in a game. And due to the rainout on Sunday, the pitching matchups got moved so he ends up going against Willis. Tough call if he should be DFA’d based on just tonight’s game. Had he not broken the momentum of a 12 game winning streak, his sucky first two innings might not have been so glaringly bad, I dunno…no great loss if they do ship him out.
  21. Kind of sucks to use Trot this early in the game to PH for Johnson.
  22. Jose Canseco could probably pitch better than Johnson tonight.
  23. Johnson is making Clement look good right now.:thumbdown
  24. No joke, it looks like Jose Canseco, author of Juiced, is now attempting to rejuvenate his baseball career. Believe it or not, he’s returning as a pitcher. Link You might not remember the last time he pitched so for laughs check this out: Link to game
  25. With Johnson starting against Willis this one seems like the toughest match up of the series. I’m wondering if tonight Papi will get the night off due to lefty Willis pitching. Also Manny’s nursing a sore knee so a day off for him couldn’t hurt either. Should be interesting to see how Youk, Manny, Papi, and Lowell all get worked into the lineups over this series.
