    So how much Pedro intimidation do you think we’ll see? The overnight show on WFAN had callers and the host advocating the idea of Pedro the “headhunter” throwing inside and at Ortiz, to the point the gets plunked. It can’t see Pedro doing that to Papi, one of his closest friends. I hope the Sox do what the MFY did when facing Pedro: be patient and make him throw a lot of pitches to the where he gets knocked out of the game early.

    This thread really should be closed at this point, or at the very least the posts of booing Pedro merged into the other one. Perhaps a separate one could go on to discuss Gammons’ situation with a different title. It feels wrong to keep the “Gammons needs to retire” title.

    Watching the 1986 memorial got he me thinking if the likes of Buckner and Boggs don’t get booed at all then there’s no reason whatsoever that Pedro should. Really none of them should… The guy playing the trumpet should though.

    I think the so-called “bashing” on this thread was more directed to the notion of booing Pedro, not really directed at Gammons himself. Extremely sad news and I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

    Luckily Lester’s got the easiest pitching match up in the series. But aside from the rain delayed start against Texas, this is definitely going to be a true test. Atl and Wash weren’t exactly a cakewalk but finally he’ll be facing a team with hitters as potent as Tor and NYY.

    I’m watching Pedro’s press conference right now, and just listening to him speak reminds me of how much I miss him on the team

    I’d rather see the Sox take their time with him and not rush him back. This year was supposed to be a developmental/instructional year for him. Why not spend the time needed in AAA to work on his fielding and allow him to get everyday AB’s. With the surgery he probably has lost a great deal of power, so if takes until early/mid August before they bring him back then okay with me.
