The real reason the Sox didn't win is because they've reverted back to April, May and most of June baseball. Good pitching and anemic offense. The Sox were by far the best team in baseball for 37 games. They've been  mediocre for the other 118.

I agree.  They are especially bad with RISP.  Last night they were 1/11 (Mayer's double).  In that context, Durbin's attempted steal was a recognition that Duran or whoever wasn't got to bring him home from 2b.  Duran's triple occurred with no one on base.  

Also, the run scored off Whitlock was unearned.    Wong also failed to block 2 or more WP's.  He no longer can throw anyone out stealing 2b at the same time Rutschman is able to pick off runners at 2b.

I think the rotation is already aligned.  Rest is good, but too much rest is terrible.  The Rockies swept the NLCS in 2007 and had to wait 9 days before playing the Sox, who swept them in the WS.

While true, there are waysreak the season into smaller chunks and find other winning stretches, like 9-6 in the last 15. Keep on winning at a 3-2 pace, and we can advance and advance...

According to fangraphs, the Sox bat .248 with RISP, which is 18th. Their .727 OPS w RISP is 22nd.

Overall, the Sox bat .246, which is worse but ranks 12tn, and have a .722 (also worse) OPS, but that places 11th.

According to those numbers, then, the Clutch Sox actually reach base and slug better with RISP than they do overall!
