Looks like we'll be without Whitlock and Chapman today.  Tyron for the save, if needed?

Moran and others have looked pretty good, of late.

OPS Against last 4 weeks:

.120 Moran (.067 last 14 days)

.499 Guerrero

.500 Bello

.573 Weissert

.585 Watson

(Slaten is at .485 in the last 14 days.)

Absolutely fascinating numbers.  Thanks.

Sox starter Grey's ERA is 2.54 and he is ranked 5th in MLB in quality starts (6 IP, 3 or fewer ER's).  And these are July ERA's for 5 Sox relievers:  Guerrero 0.00, Moran 1.23, Weissert 1.50, Bello 2.08, and Slaten 2.08.  I think the Sox pitching will be fine with or without Guerrero, Chapman, and Whitlock.

Plus the Sox are hitting, including 22 runs in 3 games vs the Rays.

Rays have the best record in the AL and will be determined to avoid a 4 game sweep.

Moran was a good pitcher a couple years back- before the injury.

I was glad we got him. I'm happier, now.

Jones at leadoff vs the lefty.

Monasterio at SS and Wong catching.

Who can doubt anything Tracy does?

Tracy and Breslow have had a bit of a Midas Touch lately…

It's actually not just "lately" with Brez,

It’s been revealed lately.

Sadly though his Midas Touch does work both ways and the players he trades away often turn to hold as well…

Regardless of today's outcome, a win naturally,  everyone who is a regular on this site and suffered through the misery of April-May-June should take 5 minutes to just enjoy the results of the last few weeks.

No complaints on Breslow, the lineup, Tracy, the mound staff, etc.  Truly a remarkable turnaround to celebrate.

Now on to a new challenge .  Can the team sustain this momentum , can Breslow add a couple of the right players to make a run at the AL, can Abreu hit 2 more bombs today ?

It is finally good again to be a Red Sox fan !

It's always good to be a Red Sox fan.  There is kind of an ebb and flow to teams, both short-term and long-term.  Once upon a time, making the playoffs was a nice fun ride.  Now, unless we are WS favorites, some fans think that we need to tank.  Just enjoy the ride.

Jones is now the 8th different leadoff batter employed by the Sox so far this season.

He is hitting better since coming to Boston

Mono should have been called out on strikes, then doubles to tie it up.

Duran must start doing something again. Of course,  he is AVAILABLE which others are not

He just did.  Not bothering to run on the double steal.

Did Duran miss the sign?

The only defense of Duran's late start was that he had to be sure Mono was moving. OTOH, he had a big lead
