Way to tell people they have no right to an opinion!

Geez, it’s almost as bad as the enthusiasm!

Huh? OMG NNN. Where does it say people have no right to their opinion? Where? I also have a right to my options, which if you’re not going to play to win don’t play at all, and anything else is a LOSERS ATTITUDE. So dam afraid of trading off some SUSPECTS who might be good someday. Why did little Anthony get shipped off to Florida? Because they didn’t want  him just hanging around stinking up the joint IMO. You want to tell the Con Man we appreciate your effort so far this season, but we’ve got some loser fans who think the team isn’t worth trying to improve it, so we’re going to start selling off some pieces. Sorry about that.🤭🙈🤮.

De Vries will have no impact on wanting Arias.  Just like already having (and extending) Jacob Wilson didn’t temper their interest in Dr Vries.

They can trade Arias for even better pitching, and therefore not limit themselves to options within the Boston system.  A good matchup on BTV is Mayer ($29.7mill) and Witherspoon ($11.8mill) plus some lesser prospect.  Sure I prefer the latter, but I assume it takes Arias

Would you deal Arias for Langeliers?

Notin you forgetting about Jacob Wilson? They have Gelof (3b), Wilson (SS), soon to be DeVries (2b) Kurtz (1b) Soderstrom (1b/OF) I strongly believe it’s pitching, that gets deal done.

Your entire post was berating people for wanting to sell.  So what?  As the rare fan who spent the majority of the season still excited by this team, I do understand their disappointment.

Prospects are all about hope. When the team isn’t good, they give fans something to look forward to.  Now you’re against hope too?

Again, they can trade Arias (or DeVries) for pitching.  Having De Vries doesn’t change this.

I’d rather do Mayer/Witherspoon plus.   But the A’s have almost 2 1/2 years to get a better offer…

A’s unfortunately Definitely not taking Mayer.

I mentioned him by name.

Again, why couldn’t they just trade Arias for pitching?

I’d love it if they took Early and Witherspoon.  But if they ask for Arias, would you be in or out?

I doubt they'd do it, even if we added Gonzales or Phillips.

Me too.

I think they hold out for Arias.

Arguing they wouldn’t take Arias because they have De Vries and Wilson is like saying “I know you owe me $50, but I need a $10bill, so just pay me that instead.”

I’m avoiding the question….. It’s a tough one… I don’t think I do. Only 2 seasons left after this for Bangliers….. 2027 is in doubt.

Eyanson AND Early I probably roll the dice and make the deal.

you?

Also SS can play any other position on the diamond besides P and C. So I’m sure Arias would be coveted.

Eyanson and Early?

Done.

Don’t fear 2027. MLB hasn’t let CBA negotiations affect a season since 1994-95, over 30 years ago.  The game is healthier than ever.  They don’t want to lose it..

I'm not (yet) sold on Siegler, Monasterio & Cheng as being our middle infield solutions. My hopes on Mayer are lower now than before, and I was never super high on him, except for his defense outlook.

Arias may turn out like Mayer or even worse- Grissom or Jeter Downs.

I'm not counting on JH to open the wallet to let Brez buy us our needs next season. We'll be needing guys like Arias and Eyanson to fill holes.

If we can't get Langeliers for Early & Witherspoon, which is already more than I want to give up, then we move on.

I dislike overpaying for rentals as much as anyone, but there is a reason teams do it- they cost less. We should make trades like Langeliers in the winter.

To me, it's Eyanson OR Early plus Witherspoon and maybe Phillips or Gonzales/Cespedes.

SS’s can’t pitch?

Guess what position Trevor Hoffman, Joe Nathan and Matt Bush began their career as.  Also Bret Saberhagen was drafted as a shortstop…

Obviously better, but worst case I trade the better combo.  Langeliers is such a perfect fit for this team.

Arias isn’t any more proven than Mayer, either…

Yankees are chasing him too… all the reason to keep in the sweepstakes.

Seigler easily could go to LF for now if RS acquired someone like a Paredes. Yes we still have consistent holes at C, 2b, SS, LF/DH if we can get better bat at any of those spots you have to let it rip. Figure out the other pieces after. Good to great type “first who then where”

This is the same clown that was berating the optimistic fans for being positive and talking playoffs. He told us to make .500 the goal not the playoffs. There were "too many teams between us and the playoffs."

I know Arias is an unknown, but our middle infield need is too great to trade our best hope.

He is just a "hope," but I'd rather hope on him than a Monasterio &  Cheng SS platoon. I'm not sold on Siegler, either, and we are not sure Romy can stay over .700 v RHPs.

L O S E R attitude all the way around. Suspects are all about hope? I’ve been hearing about that for the last 5 years, and now some are still hoping KC, Marshmallow Mayer, and little Pinky Anthony turn out to justify all the hype that’s been heaped on them. Once again are you going to tell the Manager, Coaches, and players in the Red Sox dugout they are not good enough to try, and make the team better? If you do it’s a LOSER attitude. I’ve been hearing about SUSPECTS, and selling for the last 5 years. LOSER attitude.

I already feel like my suggested offer is a gross overpay. I'm not going higher, even if the Yanks end up getting him.

We can get someone else.

I'm not for trading Arias, Eyanson or Early, but would give one for a controlled player like him, but not two.

That means either a 3-team trade, or else anyone that wants Arias will call us direct.

What do the Yankees have to offer?

Lombard?  Older and worse than Arias.

LaGrange?  Is he better than Eyanson?

Jasson/Spencer Jones? Neither is horrible but neither has lived up either.

Volpe? Doubtful the A’s care

Ok my knowledge of Yankee prospects is officially exhausted.  Anyone know who else they have?

Or the Athletics can hold Arias and De Vries until November and deal with 29 other teams…

I get that.  I go with two but with great reluctance.  I much prefer Eyanson plus Witherspoon…

And calling us losers 5 times in one post is not saying we cant  state our opinions.

He berated us for thinking we had a chance and now berates us for not wanting to sell our soul for this year - a year he thought .500 should be our goal.

Once again are you going to tell all the uniform personnel in the Red Sox dugout you don’t think they are good enough to invest in now to make the team better? As for the question you asked didn’t being under 500 with a low 14 games under 500 warrant saying they weren’t good enough at that time? With their current 12 game winning streak, and currently in a wildcard spot doesn’t that change the whole equation? As always the here, and now. It’s not that complicated, but it seems to be for some. The whole league is the weakest I’ve ever seen it, so it’s not like any other year, and to me the the postseason this year will be wide open, so not trying to improve the team is a LOSER all the way around. L O S E R.

Not worried about middle infield.

It’s not just Seigler, Cheng and Monasterio.  The Sox also have Story, Mayer, Sogard, and Romy on the 40 man roster.  And Arias, Romero and Mason White all yet to be rostered.

But I think Eyanson and Witherspoon is a solid first offer.  Can the Yankees top it?  I think so.  I think Lombard and LaGrange is better.  But will the Yankees offer it and do the A’s agree with me? TBD.  The Yankees could just as easily pivot and offer something much lesser for Ryan Jeffers, who makes more sense since they probably shouldn’t replace Austin Wells at this stage of the season…

Are you f***ing serious?   What on Earth does telling the Sox about my views matter?  Do you think they would listen to anyone here?  Would you have told them that you wanted them to tank 3 weeks ago?

You have leapt to the front of the hypocrisy charge.  All year long, you told us “Fred was right about everything” while Fred was begging the team to tank and lose.  But the team wins a few and now you’ve adopted this new stance that thinking the team should sell is so wrong and cowardly.

On the bright side, all it takes is one 5 game losing streak and you’ll reverse your position again.  And then once again claim you never did…

The funny thing is, we are suggesting trades to help the team, and he screams we don't want to improve the team.

A couple weeks ago, he was making fun of those who remained optimistic or said we were better than the record indicated, but of course only the record matters to him.

Now our record is over .500, and he acts like he's been all in on this year from day one.

At least he's not bashing Brez anymore, but that will change after a 2 game losing streak.
