Alright, so the Sox have been legit good for a few weeks now. How do you feel about the team right now: a real shot at October, or a brief mirage?

Possible mirage but also a reversion to mean with a motley crew of players.

Hard to argue that excellent pitching can't carry you a good ways down the road.

Need Sandoval to pitch lights out and then for him to be traded right after.

Absolutely not.  The Sox are going to need Sandoval.

If the Sox do go into sell mode, they likely dump Gray, and potentially Bello.  And at some point will probably shut down Tolle and Bennett (and Early if he ever gets activated).  The Sox are going to need an arm (or more?) to handle the IP at that point.  And helping preserve the arms of Tolle, Early and Bennett is far more useful than anything Sandoval will brings back in a trade…

Durbin is coming around.

Seems like it. Thanks a lot Sox hitting coaches. Great help.

I wouldn't dump Bello. He has lost too much value. He goes back into the rotation for the rest of the year for me. I'm dealing Sandoval and picking up waiver claims on every pitcher I can to take rotation spots down the stretch.

What a terrible pitch that was to Durbin, sweeper over the middle of the plate. If he just cleans up garbage pitches like that, he'll have a long career because of his glove.

I don’t think trading Sandoval is even possible and it’s probably not worth it.  What team is leaping at the 20IP (at most) he’ll have at the deadline?

I have no idea if the Sox deal Bello, but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t even considered…

Brett Harris has a career 154 SLG Away.

He might have figured out how to get your SLG below your BA…

They figured it was much easier to just take credit as opposed to giving helpful advice…

If we're just playing fantasy here, I'm trading Sandoval after this start. He's looked strong so far.

What a terrible AB by Cedanne. Where is Fred to rip him?

Right here. Late joining the party. I know SS missed me

Who is Harris?

They traded their '24 20th round pick to the A's for him. He's a slap hitting IFer who will be DFA'd once players get healthy.

His durability is a major question mark.  Just because Boston has no use for him after this year doesnt mean he’s tradable.  Sometimes you just can’t sell your garbage, and it’s people like you that think you can that went out and created the garage sale…

I didn’t think they could replace suspended players. Was he already up?

Nice line, but every garage sale I've ever had has made more money than I thought I'd bring in. If the Sox are the only ones having a garage sale, I'm sure they'd find some big spenders showing up too.

Eaton was activated from suspension when Contreras was put on suspension. Ranger was put on 15 day IL.

Tyron Guerrero has been great and should have been up on Opening Day.

Unlike certain other posters, I had faith in him.

You’ve had multiple garage sales? 😞

I had no faith.  I not only admit it, but I also refuse to deny I said it.

But I’ve never had a garage sale…

He’s the backup catcher.  Hitting from him is a bonus.

But, hey, Duran got the chance to extend his K streak to 10 games and he took full advantage right away…
