very odd that Bello is a different pitcher when he starts vs when he comes in the 2nd inning, it has to be something mentally

I'm not sure the interim manager is deciding on whether Bello is starting or coming in for the 2nd by himself. That's probably between him, Bailey and Breslow.

The O's I'm sure are looking for another starting pitcher, so they're definitely not looking at Bello.

Lose today and they have to go on the road to play against the AL team with the best run differential this weekend. Chance to really turn this season around in a bad way.

Bellboy is unbelievable.  A true mental case with no ability to be prepared or deal with adversity.

Putting him in the bullpen woukd be a total crapshoot.  His contract , like others, makes him a RS liability for awhile. No team would want him as a starter.

Yup! It was an unnecessary extension. They did it just to show that they did something that offseason.

Then he comes back with a shutdown 2nd.   Just confirms IMO that he has the yips in the 1st.

After the DP  you would have thought he could limit the damage but he 2 out walks the next guy opening the floodgates. Contreras's error doesn't help.
