Bello was an odd choice to lock up because he was never an elite prospect and never ranked by any scouting organization anywhere, which is really weird when you consider the same cannot be said about Henry Owens and Trey Ball.

Move Bello to the bullpen and keep Tolle in the rotation…

Teams that suck always have choices. They can do nothing and keep playing their mistakes that they've blown money on, or they can make changes...

... like trading established veterans to make room for as many young and hungry prospects as they can bring up.

That option might be tough to watch, as youth adjusts to The Show, but at least their development is more intriguing than doormats that feature deteriorating skills of over-the-hill players.

One can keep you watching, the other can keep you retching.

I tend to agree, but then, it could be argued that this thinking sent Betts, Devers, Bogaerts to the west coast, leaving us with Campbell, Bello, Duran, (and somehow Durbin, whose acquisition remains a mystery).

Sounds like a good idea. (Who gets Gray's or Bello's next start? Anderson? Bennett? Pen game?)

I don't see many other in-house tweeks that can be made, except maybe IL'ing or DFA'ing Watson or swapping Story from SS to 2B, but we all know Cora will not even ask Story if he's willing to even think about moving positions.

I don't see the streaking Gasper as a solution. Cheng, Sogard, Delay and Ward are very long shots.

Waiting for Slaten, Crawford or Sandoval to come to the rescue seems pointless.

Did Cora lose his locker room last year? It was Bregman who was helping the young players this year. With this awful start, who's going to help the young players right now? Crochet wants to be a leader, but he knows he can't be right now because of his poor starts. Who's helping the young pitchers Bello, Tolle, and Early? Who is the pitching coach the best leader to turn around a struggling rotation?

Bello was #53 in fWAR for SPs from 2023-2025.

Never confuse the Betts trade with any other, since it will always be the worst Red Sox trade of our lifetimes.

Mookie was 26 when traded -- just about to enter his prime. He wasn't over-the-hill and had just reached the trailhead.

He has 42.5 WAR in LA so far. In the same five plus years, Wong/Verdugo/Downs have a combined 15 WAR.

That qualifies for international WAR crimes.

It does stand alone- post Babe Ruth.

Even the Sparky Lyle trade pales compared to Betts.
