I wonder how our 6.55 ERA pitcher would be doing in a game right now.    Embarrassing offense this far

He’s pitching very well. Gotta tip your cap to him. Still, the Sox cannot afford to lose home games to mediocre teams.

Agreed.   One of the reasons I would have traded for Dylan Cease

Not sure i would go with Gio in 7th, though he held them in the 6th. One or more hard hits may fly out of Fenway

Alcantara just the latest in a string of veteran pitchers who are really messing with the young guys.

Al having a weak year but the Sox bring him back the memory of the CY.

Pitiful hitting execution but just wait for 7-8-9 where the Sox show their stuff

Sandy Alcantara isn't very good anymore. He walks too many guys and can't strike anybody out anymore. He gives up a lot of loud contact and doesn't miss bats. With how well the Sox play at home, they should beat the Marlins up pretty good today. He's basically the Marlins' version of Buehler at this point. He could throw a gem, but most likely it's a little ugly.

Not the best pregame prediction . . .

Mine was a little more balanced because I mentioned recent and better games by Alcantara.

Good performance by Gio.

Not good, fantastic--because he started out very badly and then found himself in the 4th inning.

This turned out to be one heckuva game, 1-1 in the 7th.  Marlin's starter was really tough and Bregman came in with a huge, huge double to the opposite field.

Sox have 2 hits in 7 innings.  The 7th inning Marlins reliever looked tough.

Lineout by Marlins to start the 8th.  Make that two lineouts to RF.

Always thought it would be our pitching that would keep us out of the playoffs - Now our hitters are showing their weakness.  Not just tonight - but also in Houston

Listen…..:.Duran is not clutch……I love him but so not clutch

No one is . That has been debated here to a conclusion. It is not a repeatable skill, except for Papi
