I'm still waiting for that 'blind squirrel' moment by Wong.

i know, it's nuts that he can't find one.  But then he has trouble catching them too

I'd rather see Mayer, but Cora is platoon obsessed to the detriment of the team defense.

Not just that but unless Mayer gets ABs against ML LHPs he’s never going to get good at it.

Time for the hitters to support Bello's 6 inning shutout . He may be able to go 8 with his 71 pitch count.

I’m in St Louis waiting to see if Cardinals actually get this game in so I can cross another stadium off the list. I didn’t expect to be able to watch almost entire Red Sox game at a bar while I waited. Bello is cruising

Too many Flops hitters are taking K zone lessons from Rafaela

Maybe you should take lessons in learning that Rafaela is really good at baseball and stop NONSTOP complaining about him.

He’s a very good defensive player

He’s a below average hitter for his career.
That said it would please me to no end to be wrong about him for the good of the team.
But I don’t think that will happen.

He’s been a good hitter for over a month and his advanced metrics are all very positive.

His career OPS+ is 94-below average. And he hasn’t a clue where the strike zone is. He’s going to revert to baseline eventually.  Let’s see where he is in September. Meanwhile enjoy this flash in the pan.

His career OPS+ is also in only 1 and 1/2 seasons and he’s 24. There is room for growth

regardless. With how good his defense is, he has immense value, even with a 94 OPS+

At this point, and with a half of a season to go… do you rather Toro or Casas at 1B next year?
