I looked at his game log.  It's 5 walks, which led to 7 runs.  Another time, he had 5 walks and gave up 0 runs in 4.2 IP.  Most of the time, he needs too many pitches, but he's really only had that one terrible game.  In no other game has he given up more that 3 ER.  He has pitched the 2d most innings on the team. He has the 2d best ERA among starters.  

He is in fact our 2d best starter.

The Rays just beat the Tigers again 8-3. The AL East, which looked like a one team conference not that long ago, is now a 4 team race. Stay tuned to see how long that lasts.

Roupp is a 26 year old RH with a 3.99ERA and a 1.46WHIP. He averages 5 innings per start. He's 4-5 so far this season.

His favorite band is Nickelback.

He got to throw strikes, especially when he's ahead in counts. Too often he converts 0-2 1-2 counts into 3-2.

Clarke Schmidt has a no-hitter through seven. He is over a hundred pitches, so I don't think Boone will let him finish.

Story will go on a hot streak from time to time but he is not a good hitter. 

When he gets on, it's more of ball finding the bat, not the bad making the contact with the ball.

I don't have anything against him but I just don't like him.

In the first inning, it was the ump doing the nibbling, calling 2 strikes balls.  Message to Bello was:  throw where he can hit it hard if you want a strike.  Thus the dinger.
