We have in our lineup today for 3 4 5 spots a rookie, a rookie, and a 2nd yr player.. Next 30 games are critical....if we fall off the cliff.. I'd say sell off.

Find a way to get Anthony up in the major.

While anything is possible , I do think the ship sailed for the Red Sox playoff chances while they were waiting at North Station .

How can that be when it is still May and over 100 games remain ?     The math to get to 90 wins gets a little harder each day they do not win.   This is a damaged team via injuries and woeful performances from former injured players ( Story)  , shaky bullpen behind starters who have trouble going 5 full innings.

The trends lineup for another middling season.

Unless there's a an injury, a trade, or Cora gets fired, Anthony will have to continue his woe at Woo.

Does Crochet not know the book on him is currently---First pitch big swings. ?    It's a clear trend as are the HRs that result.

Who are the likely trade candidates?

Technically, it is possible that this game is over.

Realistically, the Red Sox have 24 more outs to disprove that technical possibility.  After all, the Brewers are not the Orioles.   What.. you say the Brewers are better ?  Then we are in trouble

There goes the shutout and the no-hitter.

As much as they’ve been scoring for him this year, it’s probably the ball game.

Mayer showing that maybe he is the hitter his stats indicated,   Campbell showing he can't get around on the fastball and Story in a world of his own with a upper .500 OPS

Campbell got around fine on fastballs the first few weeks.  Then pitchers figured out how to set him up and he has to adjust.  Mayer will go through the same process.

If it's a complete sell off I would start with Chapman. Then Buehler and Giolito. I would find a way to get Anthony up to the majors.

The goal is to shed some payroll and acquire young talent.

Maybe a blockbuster with Duran

The 2 soft bouncers to 2Bman today didn't appear to be jammed in on his hands, so as noted, he is tentative swinging  and not aggressive.  He may think he is getting fooled all the time by breaking balls.

Yes, Mayer will soon see his weak spots exploited.   Rafaela says, I don't care, I'm swinging it but without much luck.

chapman and wilson might bring back something useful.

There really has to be some backstory on Story.  No veteran MLB'er could possibly be going as bad as he is.

He's becoming a mental case . If he was hitting into hard outs it would be one thing but pop-ups and Ks show deteriorating skillsets

Story says I'm gonna retire so that the Sox can use the rest of my contract to improve the team.

Actually that's what I'd hoped he'd say.

Crochet with 13 starts, 1.99 ERA, 1.06 WHIP but a 4-3 record, and trailing 1-0 today in Milwaukee.

He should be angry .
