I'd do it, because every guy Grissom is traded for wins the Cy Young.

I’d love to take a shot on McKenzie. Dude has filthy stuff and while we’d be selling low on Grissom, we’d also be buying low on McKenzie.

I’m also not convinced we’re even selling Grissom low. He very well could just suck

Even if he was able to turn his hitting around and hit a little, he has shown no power and has no defensive home. I'd have no qualms in trading him.

That's how I see it.

While I do think a chance exists for his stock to rise back up, a little bit, I doubt he ever gets much higher.

He's so far down on the depth chart, and we have some very nice looking middle IF prospects on the rise, I'd do it. The only slot I see him having a shot at is 3B, once Bregman bolts, and I doubt he can ever hit well enough to be a plus 3Bman, anyway.

I agree. I just don’t really see a spot for him or think his ceiling is all that high. I’m not necessarily advocating to trade him with his value being at an all time low, but for a pitcher or another position player whose similar age who could help somewhere else, I’d be down for trying a swap.

Hell, Rockies just gave up on Nolan Jones already after he had a 4 WAR season in 2023 and was hurt last year.

anything about where Bello is at?

He'll pitch this weekend. They'll make a determination after his next start. He still has only maxed out at 3.1 innings. Last week, Cora called Bello "not close" after his first start.

I found this...

Bello (shoulder) will make a third rehab start Friday for Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Bello threw 56 pitches over 3.1 innings for Worcester over the weekend and will look to increase his workload Friday. The Red Sox will evaluate the right-hander following the rehab start, but manager Alex Cora suggested that Bello could require another outing in the minors after that before being ready to return from the 15-day injured list. Bello has been pitching on a four-day rest schedule between starts, so a fourth rehab outing would put him on track to come off the IL as soon as April 21.

He’s a pretty s***** human, but Chapman looks good so far this season. I have absolutely no idea how he’s still hitting 102 MPH and was hitting 105 last season, despite his age, but hopefully he keeps it up.

it’s also pretty incredible he’s never suffered a major injury either.

The way he throws, you'd have thought he would have.

To this point in his career he's been the proverbial freak of nature.

And other than the obvious reason of trying to help the Red Sox, why is Cleveland making this deal?

McKenzie only makes $1.9mill in his second arb year.  And they just called up 23yo Angel Martínez to play 2b, and behind him they have 2024 #1 overall draft pick Travis Bazzana (and his .974 OPS in AA ball), both potentially blocking Grissom’s best and Cleveland’s worst position.

Cleveland has a year plus to find a better deal.  Why are they answering Breslow’s telegram for this one?

A combination of a healthy diet, regular exercise and a daily regimen of about 2 kilos of Ozempic…

I don't know Chapman, just what I read about some stunts in the past. I sure can't harbor any ill will towards a guy who factored into some Yankees' playoff losses -- tough for them -- or for dissing New York at the end of his time there. Again, too bad; Bronx cheer.

As for personal issues, I'm not throwing stones (especially, since he can throw them back twice as hard). All I know is when he signed in Boston, they showed a pic of Chappy with his dog.

I'm a dog guy, too, and willing to give him a second or twenty-second chance in Boston. His new teammates are in awe of him, so he's good for the clubhouse chemistry. He's going to blow some games for the Sox because he's human and drive us all crazy, but so far so good.

His left arm has to be considered HOF worthy. His longevity with his arm motion, throwing style and velocity and never being injured is actually insane, especially in an era where it seems like every pitcher is getting Tommy John surgery.

I'd do this deal and maybe even add a far away prospect or give a little cash.

No, it doesn't make sense for CLE.

Would Grissom & Mullins or Wehunt make enough sense?

Not so good!

Almost every reliever is going to have a blowup here and there. Unfortunately, they had to do it in back to back games when we were hoping the Sox could get on a roll.

The only guy who has been really consistent is Chapman who everyone assumed would have given up the closer spot by now.

Looks like Hendriks wasn't a great play.

No, sir! A waste of a roster spot right now.
