Slight change to game thread system

I was advised on your system (dig the name "MOJO") and it's something we used on the Cubs site for some time (and will probably restart it next season).

 

I'm totally fine with continuing this system, with one small change: can we get the thread up by 11am? I'll pop in later in the morning and if there is no thread, I will create one. As I mentioned in the other thread, consistency of this kind creates habits in users and draws in new users as a result.

Sounds good. If a winning thread poster forgets to post by 11 am, I guess the MOJO aspect may get sidetracked, but it's not like our MOJO has been doing all that well, in recent years.

I think no one minds when the game thread goes up, but if they start winning, it becomes a commitment. One good hot streak and you’ll be out here every morning starting game threads by 11am…

If I'm on the winning streak, I usually try to do it right after the win or the following morning. It was definitely annoying when you'd get an hour out and there'd still be no Game Thread. I'm good with the new rules.

My three game stretch of Game Threads were rough. I was copying the guy before me and that error had carried from the poster before him. What a mess. I'll own it. But they won two games!

11 AM is a relative time, depending on time zone. It is the Red Sox Nation covering 4 time zones. Most people think there are three. So set a standard, and if it is EDT/EST, then you are biased towards East Coast idiots. totally unfair

To be clear, starting a game thread the moment the game ends with a win totally works for me. It doesn't have to be the next morning, it could be immediately. The thread existing at 10am the next morning is the goal, how we get there is whatever.

This is something I should clarify: when I speak of times, I speak in local team time. When I say 11am, I mean 11am Boston time.
