If I had to pick my most memorable SOX offensive moment this season, it would be Masa's 2-run homer with 2 outs against the Yankems in the 9th to tie the game.

Agreed. Let's hope we have more memorable big hits vs the Yanks, later on, this year.

Jansen had 1 job. get Devers to 3rd. Instead fouls out on ball 4.

That was a terrible at bat. Bunt if you have to, but get Devers to third…

True, but what we need is pitching and it's too late to fix that.

It is possible it fixes itself, and/or Martin, Hendriks and Slaten give us a boost.

Things can turn North just as they turned South. (I'm not predicting it will, but it can.)

Hard time winning at home. 3 more years of Cora? Hmmm..

I know, I can't believe Cora keeps using pitchers that throw home run balls, and features a middle of the batting order with platoon guy Rob Refsnyder and Romy Gonzalez -- who got cut by the worst team in history.

INSTEAD, WHY WON'T HE USE ALL THE STAR PITCHERS AND PLAYERS THAT THE FRONT OFFICE SUPPLIED HIM WITH?

All the Astros have is Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and Yordann Alvarez... keeping a seat warm for injured WAR leader Kyle Tucker.

And right now Houston is only missing about six legitimate big league starting pitchers on the IL. So they can only pitch a rookie with a bad record and ERA -- who struck out 13 Red Sox "hitters" in 7 innings.

Predicting, suggesting, questioning, opinions it’s all the same with you, and YES you can be wrong, and you do it all the time. Since the AS break things have pretty much turned South just as they had gone North before. Things are just evening out. It works both ways. You can’t be Cyndi Lauper all the time as much as you’d like to.🤭🙈

Actually, he's pretty balanced, but with a bias in favor of the the team/players/manager. I see nothing wrong with that.

Back in May-June we were--I was--bragging about the unbelievable turnaround in the rotation, which we/I credited to the new pitching coach, Bailey, whom Breslow had insisted upon. The Sox had the best team ERA in MLB. The hitting--total runs scored and team OPS--was mired around 12th or so.

Since the ASG break, the pitching seems to be in free fall. The team ERA, about 5th before the ASG, is now a panic-inducing 17th. What the starters don't give up, the bullpen is more than happy to make up for. Friday night Houck pitched a 6 inning, 4 hit, 1 ER gem, and the bullpen rushed in to rescue the Astros by giving up 8 runs in 3 innings.

Meanwhile, the no-name lineup is now ranked a decent 5th in runs scored and 3d in team OPS. This is terrific and absolutely no credit for it belongs to the new CBO, Breslow. A former pitcher and Yale grad, Breslow has understandably focused on the pitching. While I give him lots of credit for bringing in Bailey, I think he has done little to bring in good arms. Most notably, in the offseason he dumped Sale and picked up Giolito, 2 moves which now live in infamy. Oh, and he picked up Grissom, currently playing for Worcester.

You could be right that the 2024 Sox are seeking and finding their level of mediocrity.

I, however, remain fascinated by the ups and downs of a team with the lowest payroll (by ranking) in the JH era, 2003 to 2024. Almost as fascinating are the moves Cora makes, game to game and inning by inning, to compensate for all the mistakes by Breslow, his predecessors, and others in the FO as well as by the owner himself.

Seriously?

He didn’t say anything there that was wrong. You just like to get down on Sox fans for being fans…

I made no predictions. We all should know almost anything can happen in baseball. Hell, the A's are outplaying many of the higher ranked teams, over the last month or so. Saying things can change, and being called "wrong" for saying that is nothing short of absurd.

Nobody is doubting the fact that we turned south at the ASB. Nobody doubts the fact that we cannot make the playoffs, "if we keep playing like this." What is in doubt is where we go from here, and nobody knows where that might be. Nobody.

Not knowing the difference between a suggestion and a prediction is something Red will ever understand. It's not worth the effort to even try and shine a light into that vacant brain. Words have different meanings to him, and if you call him out for getting definitions wrong, he call you out for "over-analyzing." Not to mention, the fact that he over-analyzes more than anyone else here, and more often than not, misunderstands the position he is criticizing.

You can suggest, or predict all you want, and you will always be wrong as you’ve been time, and time again. You’re the biggest phony, and fraud that I have ever come across in my 60+ years of anything to do with sports talk radio, message boards, or anything else you can come up with. You are so afraid of being called wrong, so you parse words, and try to specify on what is an opinion, suggestions, or a prediction that no matter what it is it’s still wrong. You try to come across as a Red Sox super fan, but yet you bailed on the team in 2022 the big front runner that you are. Once again you are just the phony, and fraud behind the curtain, and except for the stats you throw out there all your predictions, suggestions, or brain farts NEVER happen , or come true. You also are a BIG Liar who said since I’m on your ignore list you wouldn’t answer my post through other posters yet you constantly do. Once again Mr. Wrong, Mr. Wrong they keep playing your song, and worst of all that stench you brought up to Maine with you is still residing in the air Stinkin to high heaven.🙈🤭🤮
