Every poster who I’ve seen suggesting Jansen as a trade chip on this forum, myself included, has done so under the condition we are sellers.

We are not sellers.

The 5 runs in the 8th by the Jays had something to do with bad planning by the Red Sox brain trust using an opener, and using up the BP yesterday and that lead to the call up of the likes of Campbell. Errors by the Red Sox IF is nothing new either.

Do not--repeat--do not in any way try to suggest you know better than Cora because you absolutely do not. As I've already pointed out, the thing to do with Campbell is to get him into a game to see what he can do. It's called the dud liberation movement.

While we're at it, did you notice that, after the balk by McGuire, Cora pinch hit for him and then sent Heineman in to catch? And that Heinemen threw Berroa out trying to steal 2b in the 9th after a leadoff single?

And, by the way, the 7th ain't a problem if McGuire doesn't put the leadoff man on with catcher interference.

I’m not a fan of trading Kenley. This team is competing and playing hard, despite so many injuries. I think a big part of that is having a great clubhouse and Kenley has always been a good club house guy and veteran leader. I’m a big fan of him and there is a reason he’s a future hall of famer

In my not so humble opinion, the injuries have helped more than hurt. Also, nice to know you noticed the Sox have been playing well. Well done.

If he got traded tomorrow as some on here has speculated on there would be a revolt in that Red Sox clubhouse.

Bingo!

You think losing Giolito before the season started, struggling to find an 5th starter with Whitlock and others being injured and hitting the IL and having some of the worst production in the MLB at 1B without Casas has helped? Yeah okay, sure.

The AS manager picks the pitchers, so Houck s/b a shoe-in.

He should be a lock, but you really never know with all star game selections. Weird things happen since every team has to have a representative

You’re missing the point. All the things that happened in the game tonight had nothing to do with why Campbell was called up. The BP had been worked hard before yesterdays game, and the Red Sox went with an opener yesterday, and worked the BP even harder, which led to the call up of Campbell, who now has an ERA of 16.20. If you think that was all sound strategy fine, but I don’t. If it wasn’t for the Red Sox winning these 2 games it would have been a bigger problem.

You, and others are always under the condition this team should be sellers for the last three years. Before, during, and after each season. You don’t know nothing else. Remember this season was a Sham,Sham, Sham.

To me the best thing about the AS game is the break itself. I usually don't even watch it. However, if Duran and Houck are involved, I will watch it until they're no longer in the game.

Houck deserves to be there, but Houck could use the break.

Attendance tonight 35,856. On a Monday night against a team that is sliding backwards.

Sure looks to me like I was dead wrong about Sox fans. They don't need names, they just want a team that's found out how to win--good hitting, good pitching (with occasional slip-ups), not so good defense, and some pretty good baserunning.

Now it's time for Sox fans to do some ASG voting. Duran for sure. Wong. Maybe Devers. Houck to start the ASG. Duran's big roadblock are the Yankee's Judge and Soto with OPS's of 1.108 and .994.

I'm sure every contending team's manager feels as you do. They want their ACE resting and not in some meaningless game.

Of course this meaningless game brings in big bucks, so enough said.

I don't care to even watch the game, but I like seeing the Sox players get rewarded for great play and like seeing them get the accomplishment of "all star" on their resumes. Especially for guys like Duran, Houck and Wong, who have never made it before.

That is just horsehockey. I know some players might think that way, but in fact pitchers rarely go more than 1 IP in the ASG and the players not more than 3 innings.

Plus the ASG, unlike the one for the NBA, which is a joke, and the NFL, where no good players go, the MLB ASG is real baseball. The hitters are trying to hit and the pitchers are trying to get them out and the fielders are fielding up a storm.

No doubt, the AS game is a showcase for players like Houck, Duran and Wong, who are probably unknown to most non-SOX fans.

I don’t think talking about being sellers on a daily basis is enjoying anything. Selling is for losers, and the shoe must fit more than one on here.🙈🤭🤮

McGuire may be Houck's personal catcher. I know they usually work well together.

Fine with me, but I'll bet that catcher interference, which is what started the Jays 5 run rally, really torqued Cora. He pulled McGuire the next inning.

I was referring to the managers, not the players themselves. And now that it doesn't determine which team gets home field advantage in the WS ( a really stupid thing) it is a meaningless game.
