Very impressed at how pivetta threw the ball today !
. Agreed 6 innings, one run given up... Should win ball games. He did his part for sure

At this point could Mayer be any worse than Dalbec?
. No. The fact Bobby is our first line of defense against a Devers injury is really scary

Tough loss.

Great start by Pivetta. (After 2 games, the rotation has been our best area.)

Wink looked okay.

Gotta hope the O comes around, tomorrow.

Without Devers, a miserable Sox lineup. Duran absolutely, positively can neither see nor hit a breaking ball. And why oh why is Dalbec on this roster? He has had an infinity of chances and never delivered.

I know, it's early. 160 games to go, but tonight was just miserable.

Sox pitching looked good, however, especially Pivetta. Good move leaving Winck in for the 8th.

True--and who knew our rotation would be our best area?

The 0 is 0, actually.

I think you misspelled “O”…. ;)

Just a half game from 2nd place!

It'll be tough given the Devers situation. I mean he was on pace to hit 162 dingers, and now he's been out half the season with injuries!

I’m ready for robo umps. Casas saw 6 pitcher, all out of the zone, didn’t swing at any and struck out looking. Dumb as s***

Not so. The catcher has by far the best view of the strike zone, and he agreed with the ump's calls. If he had complained to the ump about those called strikes, you would have a case, but he didn't and you don't.

I'm fine with human umps and believe, quite strongly, that a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.

Why would a catcher complain, when the calls are helping his team?

They won't be facing Kirby, so that's a plus.
