Feels like some combination of a Mayer/Anthony/Teel promotion is imminent.

No MiLB games on Monday so today or tomorrow would be the day.

@SoxProspects

Our @SPChrisHatfield

reports, per an org source, that 2024 draftees Zach Ehrhard and Will Turner, both outfielders, will be added to the Greenville roster tomorrow. This is unlikely to be part of a larger set of promotions.

Also, Worcester RP Jorge Benitez has been released.

@MLBPipeline

Jedixson Paez, a 20-year-old right-hander out of Venezuela, enters the @RedSox's Top 30 Prospects list after Brandon Walter was released

@jimcallisMLB

Paez has extremely advanced command for his age & will get even more interesting if his velocity continues to tick up.

Jhostynxon has absolutely raked since being promoted to GRE:

48 G

16 HR

29 XBH

995 OPS

I thought there was a chance, he'd pass his brother in the rankings, but they did jump him up quite a bit.

We seems to have a lot of pitchers joining the rankings, although the vast majority are ranked below 13th.

His brother WAS considered the better prospect, but things are interesting now, unfortunately Johanfran hasn't been able to show us anything this year.

Both these guys are still very far away and a lot can happen, but have two brothers ever been top 100 prospects before? it would be pretty cool. It would be pretty cool to see them both on the same team in Boston some day as well.

Of course I the Sox can always go the Bogaerts route like they did when they traded Jair, but he was never highly regarded nor did he ever play in the majors.

Jo Garcia did get off to a great start, before his injury, but the sample size was small.

1.063 OPS in 53 ABs.

Aside from the injury, he also showed us additional bulk to his build. At his age, that's something to worry about with him if he's going to try to stick behind the plate.

The first half of the pictures are from this season, the last half are from last season. You can notice the difference IMO.

I don't think he looks like someone who can't catch, looks about as athletic as most MLB catchers. Doesn't mean he can't grow out of that body, we just don't know, but I think Garcia has tremendous upside. And he was starting to get serious hellium right before he got hurt.

I'm really liking both brothers, more and more.

I'm loving how so many other prospects in A ball or below are showing major promise. It's a long list.

The Arias jump was deserved, and he still needs to prove he can keep doing well, as they promote him, but here is a look at our top prospects, not counting draftees in the lowe rminors, right now:

6 Bleis

8 Arias

7 Cespedes

12 Castro

13 Zanetello

16 E Rod

17 Jo Garcia

18 Romero

19 Jh Garcia

25 Monegro

27 Valera

28 Paez

29 Mullins

D Reyes, Dean, Wehunt, Gonzales, Brannon, Anderson, Riemer, Carlson, Ingrassia, Mussett, Rogers...

1. You can tell he looks bigger.

2. I'm not saying anything that Chris Hatfield and Ian Cundall haven't already said this year.

I said at the beginning of the season that Salem was the most fun team to watch due in part to the Garcia Bros. A lot of promotions have changed that squad since then.

Yes, I listen to all the soxprospects stuff as well, there's a reason why those guys STILL have him ranked ahead of his brother. If all he was, was a bat that would not be the case.

yes, there's a risk he can move off the position, and his athleticism will have to be kept in check, but you act like it is a certainty or very likely. Or at least, that's the impression I'm getting, maybe that is not your stance, in which case I apologise.

And if that is the case.....I REALLY hope he can hit.

All I said was "it's something to worry about if he's going to try to stick behind the plate long term" which is what they said. They even talked about his bat needing to be good enough for 1B or DH. :confused:

I'm not out of pocket on this one IMO. They are higher on Johanfran because he's younger and still as advanced offensively. If he can stick at catcher, he has much more value than his brother. If not, the value goes down.

Hudson White is a very good defensive catcher so it'll be good for him to work with Rodriguez, Monegro, Paez, Wehunt, Mullins, etc. in Greenville.

Anthony is no longer grounding out on breaking balls. He is picking up the spin and mashing!!!!

Really impressed with his at bats this past week or two

Thanks. I was too lazy to go back and look.

Is anyone surprised none of the big 3 have been promoted to AAA, yet?

Not really. Teel would probably be the likeliest one. But Mayer just having a great season at AA is a success, and Anthony is still super young.
