It may be. But no way it is. It’s more likely just the first time he actually gave an answer…

 

If anyone in the Red Sox media asked him the question we'd know about it, one way or the other. I think what Bradford asked him was if the Red Sox had offered him the same as the Dodgers did if he would have taken it.

That can't have been the first time he was asked that.

Like I keep saying none of us know the whole story, or the true story. I read an article today by Kevin Skiver of the Sporting News who said multiple reports said Bloom was never told that Mookie had to be traded to keep under the tax line, but Bloom did it anyway, so who to believe, or not to believe. Also Mike Axsia back in 2020 said that Mookie said he had no regrets turning down the 10/yr $300M offer from the Red Sox.

I just read an article where they quoted Mookie saying that he never received an official offer from the Red Sox.

 

Let him walk was a huge mistake regardless the story behind.
