Sale vs Urquidy

Nothing to say that wasn't already said last night.

Go SOX!

The big question is will this be a Sale night, or a for sale night.

Not sure how "for sale" applies given the lateness of this season. If you mean postseason, then I of course I agree there will be transactions, but I think the Sox will buy more and sell less.

Sale will go pretty well for 4 2/3rds, then an error will put a man on second. The next 5 Astro's will break up the 1-1 game with 5 consecutive doubles . If Millar can predict HR's, I can "see" inevitable outcomes.

No a Sale night is a good night, and a for sale night would be a bad night.

I don't see it, mostly because I think you and others overstate the errors situation. The Sox lost last night because Verlander had an excellent game--6 IP, 9 K's, 0 runs--and Houck was just OK. We lost both games to the Astros because their hitting and pitching were both better than ours.

The errors, I agree, were/are infuriating, but not game deciders.

Tonight I believe that, as was the case Monday and Tuesday night, hitting and pitching will be the difference. I think Sale vs. Urquiddy gives the Sox a big edge. However, I have my doubts about the Sox hitting, especially the lefty bats--specifically, Dugo, Yoshida, Duran (on the DL), and Casas--who should be given the Sox an edge against righty starters.

Back to the errors, including the mental ones. They may in fact reflect the current mindset of the whole team, including their manager.

Abreu in LF tonight. I guess Masa needs another rest.

He's better off on the bench.

Last 23 games played he has the following slash line

200BA/215OBP/278SLG and a whopping 493 OPS.

18 hits and probably 10 of them were weak grounders that found a hole or bloop singles.

It wasn’t the errors. It was the non errors.

In two straight games we handed them 3 reach on bases in one inning without an error being called.

When one considers how many high-priced FA's have failed as members of the SOX, it's no wonder JH is gun shy about signing more.

The FO can't keep depending on the Dodgers cleaning up their messes.

Astros just waiting for Sale's slow s***.

He's only throwing 2 pitches, the 4 seamer and the slider. He's thrown very few changeups or cutters.
