JD named NL All star DH. Wakefield comment: really????

They need to get Wakefield out of the booth. This has all been embarrassing enough as it is.

I hated watching him pitch as much as I dislike him in the booth.

Obviously we will be sellers. But really-who are do we have that is available to trade that has any value? We aren’t trading Devers, Yoshida, or Bello. Who else really has any value? The rest of these bums can be flushed.

Sox will have to provide bios for most of these guys:

"you want to trade us who???? Never heard of him."

Martin may be able to be traded. But RPs don’t bring much.

Best to tank now even though it’s only June. It’s been a long time since I have seen a Flops team this awful.

15th in team salary?

Henry has turned into a really cheap SOB

I guess we are getting what he paid for. Tough to watch. Feel horrible for our young pitcher.

Ball game. Bullpen not so hot--especially not Jansen--but overall the pitching was excellent and the hitting once again comatose. Plus of course the obligatory error, this one by Turner.

History has shown us time and time again that in the current baseball climate, money doesn't buy wins. How 'bout them Mets?

At this point Cora should let Casas and Duran stay in the line-up no matter who is pitching for the opposition. They're not gonna improve against lefties unless they face them.

Agreed.

Dugo would have value, but I would keep him. I would also retain Paxton, Houck and Pivetta(BP duty only.)

Maybe, but you have to give up something to get something of value back. What we have beyond the guys you and I mentioned is a pile of hot dung. I think this year will be the worst, then some improvement next year. Then we might be relevant again in 2025.

How about them Rays

They are fielding 1 star batter (Devers), 2 good professional hitters (Turner and Yoshida) and average bat (Dugo) and a bunch of bums. This lineup is not capable of good run production. And we can’t blame it on injuries.

I know you missed me cheering the Sox on but was down in Mexico for 3 days. Looks like I missed a train wreck of a series. No worries, a streak is just about to break out.

Not sure a player hitting over .300 is an 'average bat.'

JD and his 19 HRs would sure look good in this anemic lineup.

And maybe he’d be part of this lineup if he hit anything like this last year, instead of posting a .790 OPS and hitting only 16 HRs. I mean, should the Sox really have re-signed a DH who got outhomered by Elvis Andrus?

Guess what, Bloom signed a new DH in Yoshida who is on pace to hit 16 HR.

Again I disagree, but Dugo haters have been here since the Betts' trade.

Btw, during Dugo's 3.5 seasons with the SOX his BA is .292. If anyone describes that as an 'average bat,' one can only laugh.

Agreed. He's been pretty good this year.

With an OBP above .365, while Martinez has a very awful, very bad .310 OBP

But a very attractive .586 SLG and a 135 OPS+.
