I’m becoming convinced that the only way to prevent Cora from using Hernandez at short will be to release him. Otherwise, we’re going to see him there at least every other game for the rest of the season.

Mondesi could still work out. He should come back ok after rehabbing the ACL injury. Majority of athletes do.

Story played nearly 650 games in the 5 years before coming to Boston. That’s about 130 games a year, and that number itself is deflated by a 60 game 2020 season (in which Story played 59 games).

 

Injuries were not an issue when he was signed…
