I trust Devers will have at least one slump every year he is under contract, maybe 2. But this current one is not funny or enjoyable.

I’m becoming convinced that the only way to prevent Cora from using Hernandez at short will be to release him. Otherwise, we’re going to see him there at least every other game for the rest of the season.

I would understand playing Kike at SS if the Sox had to get, say, Rogers Hornsby into the lineup. But Christian Arroyo?

 

And Reyes had a terrific game last night without even getting a hit. And gets rewarded with a benching..

Story played nearly 650 games in the 5 years before coming to Boston. That’s about 130 games a year, and that number itself is deflated by a 60 game 2020 season (in which Story played 59 games).

absolutely. never have understood the obsession with the Arroyo either.

Duvall may need 10-12 games ( 50 PA's ) to get back up to mid-season MLB speed. Or it may be that he is a mid-level player. The 8 game outburst in April is not the basis for a season projection

Can't speak for Cora's obsessions, but Bloom may shop Kike , if Story gets ready by the deadline. Otherwise are we expecting Bloom to give Kike another 1 year $10MM deal?

I’m just going by what Cora says. Personally I not counting on anything from Story until I actually see him in the field playing.
