Gausman is just 2-2, but he is unquestionably their ace this year and has the 12th best ERA--among starters--in MLB.

Congrats to Spendid Splinter for getting the Sox rolling on their first legit winn streak of 5 or more. Today's game is just as urgent since it will vault us past the Blue Jays, and all their second generation MLB'ers living off Daddy's rep.

Get us to 6, SS

They couldn't have done it w/o me. My agent is negotiating with Bloom as we speak.

But seriously, I was watching a SOX program on youtube this morning and the talking head made a good argument that Wong is the best catcher in MLB.

Wong has the highest defensive WAR number at 1.7 and his throwing out runners is at 42%. His total WAR is also highest of all catchers at 1.1. Also, his OPS+ is currently at 128.

I guess he qualifies at this point as a pleasant surprise.

Gausman is unquestionably a top pitcher, but against the SOX he has one weakness; he's RH.

Wong is good, all right, but not as good as you. Casas's tentative comeback last night--you think Wong had anything at all to do with that? Yoshida's hot bat lately? Duran not only hitting but looking like a decent centerfielder? All on your watch.

I'll be glad to sit in on your upcoming meeting with Bloom. Think major stuff, like season tickets where Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon sat. Food and drink on the Sox of course.

That would be SUITE . How far from the booth where we could hear Youk, Wake and O'B live ?

Max, whatever you're smoking please send me some. I don't know who's doing the opening game threads for the Rays, but he's doing a better job than me.

Btw, the start of this season for the f'ing Rays(26-6) has to remind most of us of the '84 Tigers (35-5). The Tigers finished that season at 104-58; not as good as the 2018 SOX.

A far cry from Orsillo and Remy. Youk is definitely the weakest link in the booth. He's never heard of the phrase 'silence is golden.'

Much better with the radio guys because they give you great insights and narrative of the 5th inning while the Sox are playing the 7th inning.

Ya see, this is what happens when the game is sped up.

I have noticed on live Angel broadcasts out here that the announcers, Terry Smith ( worse than anyone in Boston) and Mark Langston cannot get their notes read into the broadcast because the pitch/play is happening too quickly. That is a good thing

I know if we lose tonight it is still a successful series vs. a division rival ahead of you in the standings but man….I want a sweep.

A sweep would really feel like a statement. That’s what I’m hoping for tonight a statement game. Would be an even bigger statement if Bello and the bullpen shuts this team down

Bello’s location is an issue. The guy needs to locate his pitches better or it’s alway gonna be the same thing with him.

What is wrong with Devers? Maybe he needs to sit ... (I say this largely because every time I suggest something like this, the guy goes off.)

Devers is still struggling.

Wasn't he struggling in 2022 last 50+- games as his hip/back gave him problems. His explosive start this year may have been his highlight , if his hard swing and body type work against him over the next decade.

The combo of Wong/McGuire is looking more exciting every day. McGuire is a skilled hitter and Wong is now finding his stroke.

Devers saw his OPS was below .800, and noticed Duran, Yoshida, and Valdez ( lol) out stroking him so he decided to come awake
