The 8 second rule on the hitter needs to go . If the batter doesn't get ready , screw him. That does not speed up the game. The 15/20 second clock on the pitcher does make a difference

It's a small sample , lol, but Yoshida may be a good hitter, as seen in WBC. Could be a good complement to Devers type of slash hitting

Sox hitters much more willing to get HBP this year. they were ducking it last year. Too many contract years in 2022

Pretty sure it’s a safety thing; I get it.

The powers that be will keep messing with the game until it only takes one hour to play a full game. Still waiting for the '4 fouls and you're out' rule.

I am a traditionalist as far as uniforms go. A player should not be able to wear any gear that does not match the team's colors unless they are black. Kike's shoes look like clown shoes.

What was the situation before they had the rule. if the batter was in the box but not focused on the pitcher, did the umpire call time. Yes, i agree it may be a safety issue but the rule is not needed.

You could edit your post to read " Kike... look like clown". Not my favorite Sox player

When, in the history of the world, in any level of baseball -- after a pitch -- did a batter get a do-over from the ump from pleading, "That pitch shouldn't count, because I wasn't looking!"

The batter could ask for it. Now they get one per AB.

That team was MUCH better than this one.

Not one person said that after 3 games. Not one.

And that pitching staff had Eovaldi, Perez, ERod, and Garrett Richards along with Pivetta. Are those 4 pitchers better than Sale, Kluber, Whitlock and Crawford?

Did the MLB make new rules to bring back stolen bases just for the O's, and not the Red Sox?

Can't blame SIX SBs on the catchers - he had no chance to throw anyone out. But all those huge jumps didn't come on just one Sox pitcher who wasn't holding anyone on... none of them were -- Kluber, Kelly, Braiser, Ort. Is this something the braintrust decided to ignore in Florida, cuz our pitching is too awesome to give up baserunners?

If it didn't happen with Jeter at the plate, then it never happened.

Yes - especially since you have to account for the possibility that Sale gets attacked by locusts in the 2nd inning of his start.

The Sox trying to rally hard in the 9th just puts a bright light on the poor command by pitchers, the walking stolen bases and sloppy defense . This game was winnable, and may yet be so

Is this the year that Dugo finally gets some love?

If he can improve on his shifty defense maybe. His bat is not that good to compensate his crap defense.
