I’d be down. Me and my friends play the s*** out of Co Op in diamond dynasty when we have time. I need to fix my team though because of this season thing where I apparently lose Pedro Martinez, Chipper Jones, Trea Turner, Mike Trout and Munetaka Murakami.

I’ll pm you my gamer tag.

Yeah I'm pissed about that. I lost my 99 Corbin Carroll. Dude was a leadoff HR machine, and also had 99 speed

With the new season they did at least add a new 99 overall Corbin Carroll, I think he’s a really long grind to get though. Like you have to finish every team affinity and collect the cards for him. I need that card for my squad though. His swing is so nice and he’s a game changer with that speed.

If you want a similar guy. I’ve been absolutely raking with Jackson Hollidays 99 card. Only thing is Jackson is infielder.

Who would have thought BAL and AZ would be top 4 MLB teams.

MIA and CIN top 8 teams.

The Sox have the 15th best record. 14 better/15 worse.

We are -1 from #14 MIL

-1.5 from #13 SFG

-2.0 from #10 TOR, NYY & PHI

-3.0 from #8 HOU & CIN

-4.0 from #7 LAD

-4.5 from #6 MIA

-5.0 from #4 AZ & TEX

That being said, we are 5 games ahead of the 9th worst teams in MLB (SDP & CHC at 41-47.)

My friend and I do it first thing every morning and send screenshots to each other mostly just to help the other one down the road. He's a much better baseball historian than I am so he usually beats me if I don't get all 9

Been doing this, too.

I do admit when stumped, I have a few well-travelled players to try, including Edwin Jackson, Octavio Dotel, Rickey Henderson, Chad Gaudin, Mike Morgan, Claudell Washington, Nelson Cruz…

In his last 13 games, Mookie Betts has 23 hits, including 8 homers and 8 doubles, and 14 walks.

That's insane!

I don’t think I’ve ever missed a player more than I miss Mookie Betts in Boston. Also really enjoy watching his podcast with Christian Yelich. He is somehow an even better human than baseball player.

We knew it when he was feeding the homeless in the middle of the night during the '18 postseason (wearing a hoodie, so he wouldn't be recognized).

But ownership decided he wasn't the kind of player they'd pay full market value to keep in Boston, and instead hired a guy specifically to trade him. People who say "get over it" are the ones who wish they could.

They did offer him just about the same as he took from LAD, so I'm not sure the thing about him "not being the kind of player they'd pay..." is a bit harsh.

I do wish we'd have signed him.

20% less than LAD offered isn't "just about the same."

Just to keep Talksox records in order, this was Manoah's second start since returning to the Jays. The first one on July 7 was good.

Sadly it was very much in the neighborhood, since the deal with the Dodgers included a pile of deferred money, and the AAV is actually lower ($29 mill).

With the inflation rate as it is, deferred money loses more value than upfront or non deferred money.

We offered a fair contract that was about the market rate. I wised we had countered with more, but I don’t think the Betts case is in the same category as Lester or Bogey.

Reportedly the Sox offered $300mill for 10 years, which is essentially the same the he signed with the Dodgers, but two years shorter.

What we don’t know is how much the pandemic and threat of a cancelled season(s) influenced his decision, if at all…

Or goat cheese pizza vs … well, does it matter?

Goat cheese pizza isn't an LA thing though. Goat cheese can be good on a pizza at times...

It has an LA feel to it. And the only time goat cheese is good on a pizza is when it’s someone else’s pizza…

Goat itself is delicious. Don't @ me.

It's your dinner, not mine. It's not like you said you were eating something disgusting like crunchy peanut butter.

Why can't Bloom find guys like him, instead of Jacques?

When I moved to Mexico in 2004, I loaded up my Accord with my stuff, my dog and a whole loaf of bread made up with alternating PB sandwiches with PB & J sandwiches.

If I had to live off just one food, it would be peanut butter. (I'd choose smooth. Kroger brand.)

Here in the DR, we don't call them cabra or cabrito, we call them chivo. Stewed with rice or boiled plantains or yuca my guy. Delish.
