Lol, I’ll take that as a compliment given the works today in which you never truly know haha

It certainly was a compliment.

Chase Shugart also got beat up a good bit last night. 0.2 INN, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 H, 2 HR. He had a good stretch for a while, but really took it on the chin in a few outings. That pitching staff really doesn't have much going on and is pretty disappointing. May as well start speed running some of better prospects through the system. There's nobody in their way at AAA.

Looks like Coffey needs a call up. WOO's pitching staff is just awful.

Coffey would go to AA, though.

Who in AA goes to Woo? Gambrell? Van Belle?

It was 2 separate thoughts. Coffey isn't challenged. The 5th starter in POR (Nail), isn't a starter. He can go to the pen.

The prior posts about Mayer were clearly sarcasm.

Send him down to Salem to get his confidence back!

3 hits for Mayer today, so maybe he can relax some now, and settle down.

Portland coaches need to get him ready for how we do it when he gets to Boston. If he had three hits, bench him the next game.

Wait until after June 6 his first game in Portland.

He'll be too nervous in front of the rabid hometown fans!

hmmm - possibly but they could also try to convert him to an outfielder lol

They do need a 1b too! Maybe a 5th starter?

Lot of publications gushing about Mayer's new approach of lifting the ball more this year. He's between numbers 3 and 5 in a lot of publication's top prospect lists, so we have that going for us, which is nice.

I was hopeful that he was going to really rocket through the system this year, but I'll settle for him getting to Fenway next year I guess...

@tylermilliken_

.

@BaseballAmerica

has moved Nick Yorke back into their Top 100 list at 96.

Nice to see his stock going back up after a strong start to his first stint at AA. .287/.400/.464/.868 with 6 HR, 7 2B, and 3 3B in 44 games.

Also… Marcelo Mayer is now up to 8.

@redsoxstats

Yoeilin Cespedes just hit his first home run in the Dominican. The reports on him are extremely exciting. Guessing he is in Florida soon.

@SoxProspects

Yoeilin Cespedes gives the DSL Red Sox Blue a 5-2 lead with a two-run homer (1) in the bottom of the fifth inning. The 17-year-old infielder is #41 on the #SP60. He was signed for $1,400,000 back in January.

Elvis Soto did well in his first FCL start pitching to a line of 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. The 19-year-old righty had a 3.42 ERA over 23.2 innings in the Dominican Summer League in 2022. Through three starts (13 innings) no Red Sox FCL starting pitcher has allowed a run.
