Padres were also in the running for Judge per reports. So I'm sure they will sign a top free agent by then end of this

The Padres are the new interest kings. Sorry Bloom. You are 2nd best at that now too... :(

Especially the Phillies

Makes you wonder: does DD choose owners willing to spend, or does he have a way of talking them into spending more or even a little more?

Today Bloom will be taking the family to Sea World— if he can get a BOGO deal on the tickets.

If that's where Jansen & family was, great idea!

Not bad at $13M x 2.

This is another deal, I's have matched. The 2 years is fine.

That's actually really reasonable.

Contreras about to sign with Cards. They usually value defense and other behind the plate skills, so maybe Contreras is better than I thought, there.

Jose Quintana may have preferred a likelier contender.

I get that.

I might have offered him $15M x 2, but he may have said no to that.

The Mets certainly look like better contenders, at this point.

Dave and the current Phillies owner are a match made in heaven.

It's hard to ignore this factor in free agent decisions. Perhaps it's the elephant in the room.

I think everyone knows this fact.

Some players don't choose the best offer. Judge just left $40M on the table.

It sounded like a gratuitous jab at the Sox for not being "contenders."

Sox in heavy discussion with Bogey

Will Middlebrooks tweeting out that Bogaerts and Jensen are very good friends.

Sox in heavy discussion with Bogey

Keep in mind, the source is Jon Heyman, who reported breaking news less than 24 hours ago of “Aaron Judge signing with Giants”

I think Bogaerts gets signed today. Abraham reported that Ownership talked with Management last night (Henry called Bloom)? and now they're meeting with Xander today.

It's plausible Bloom knows what he needs to get it done and needed John Henry's permission, or John Henry told Bloom to get it done.

If the Sox don't sign him today, I don't think he's coming back. Big things coming

I guess they could give him a bumped up offer and get him to agree to come back for a final chance to match, but you may be right. It's today or never for Bogey & the Sox.

My question is, what do they do with "Bogey's money," if he bolts?
