I think Reynolds will be too expensive. If I'm spending prospect capital, I'm using it towards the rotation.

Reynolds is a good hitter, but not a great outfielder. Hard to see how BTV makes him tougher to get than Murphy, a Gold Glove catcher (with pop) who can impact an entire pitching staff.

It's a plaything that they don't want to spend too much money on. They hire nerds to run the business who obsess over minutia that in the grand scheme of things just comes down to "well, it's all about luck anyway."

Reynolds isn’t a right-handed hitter. He’s a switch hitter with very different looks from each side of the plate, but results still come out remarkably equal. He’s a rarity (like Victor Martinez) in being a switch hitter who really should be a switch hitter…

He still had 11 HRs in a third of a season. His statcast numbers stayed pretty decent even after coming back from injury. He's just a more injury prone Hunter Renfroe.
