When one looks at the Rangers' won/lost record and then notices how good their offense is, they're a perfect example that pitching is a lot more than just 50% of the game.

Those 3 rbis by Story and one by Bogey now ties them both with Dugo for 2nd on the team with 62 rbis.

 

Story has about 160-170 less PAs than both Dugo and Bogey and 135 less than JD, and before anyone mentions the one 10 game stretch, where we went something like 8-2, even if you take those 10 games away, he's still 1 or 2 in RBIs per PA. That's without taking away anyone else's best 10 game stretch of rbi's.

 

Just something to ponder on a team that has lacked big hits, all year.

He has absolutely no plate discipline.

However, the SOX will not have at least 16 mil in retained salaries nest season. So that would in effect increase the SOX total PR by @17 mil next season.

He's a beast but also 30 years old. I'd be wary of a longterm contract with him

This is why I hated the Story signing. I think it will block the FO to now to extend both Bogey and Devers. Unless they can unload Story to another team

I disagree. Story drives in runs. The biggest impediment is Sale's contract. But, again, not having Price's retained salary next season does give the SOX FO 16 mil to play with.
