Agree on the OF, but I don’t see Cora sitting JD, and Arroyo’s bat has to stay in the lineup somewhere.

A manager's main job is to give his team the best chance to win. Arroyo replacing JD fulfills that obligation. This, of course, assumes that Story is in the line-up.

NFL now plays 17 regular season games, only 3 preseason. Fans were getting tired of paying full freight for 2 home preseason games of wannabes and wontbes, so the league called one of them a count-in-the -standings game

This one extra game allows my Commanders to lose 1 more game.

Then, Arroyo at 1B it must be. Not OF. Not 2B. Not DH, although it might be his best spot- and the team's best line-up.

No, Cora will not bench JD. He won't even move him to the 6th or 7th slot in the order.

Agreed, but I'm not sure winning is the plan, nowadays.

If that's the case, then don't charge fans for tickets and refund money to fans with season tickets.

The Pirates entire season would be free, then.

To me, we should be playing bubble players to get a better read on 2023.

I'd be playing McGuire and Wong.

I'd have called up Casas and played him at 1B.

I'd play Arroyo at 2B and Story at SS to see if Story's arm is okay at SS, and give Arroyo more 2B reps.

I'd play Dugo in LF, Kike in CF (to see about re-signing him, if he looks healthy) and ref in RF.

Pham, Cordero, Dalbec at DH.

Sorry Bogey and JD.

However, I can see why this will never happen.

In the last 2 games JD has 3 hits including a homer, and a walk. If it's all about the hot hand, he should be in the lineup too.

I’m for Arroyo at 1b, Story 2b, Bogey SS, Raffy 3b, and an outfield of Dugo, Kike, Pham, and/or Refsnyder. JDM at DH is almost OK.

I don't like his defense, but would not argue with continuing to play him. I'm just saying the four best available outfielders are Dugo, Refsnyder, Kike, and Pham. Pham and Dugo are hitting, but not so good on defense. Refsnyder can hit and defend (however, see below). Kike is the best defender, but not hitting--yet.

In order, the outfield WAR's are Dugo +0.9, Refsnyder +0.8, Pham +0.4, and Kike +0.3.

Their DWAR's are Kike +0.5, Pham -0.2, Refsnyder -0.3, and Dugo -1.0.
