It is very obvious that Caleb Ort's velocity is what makes him intriguing and why they are reluctant to dump him. Why do people keep expressing amazement when they get rid of other jabronis and keep Ort ?

You know how many jabronis throw fire and suck?

How many jabroni's have a .492 OPS Against in 50 IP and get DFA'd?

Baby, I'm amazed.

1. German’s velocity (97.9 mph) was greater than Ort’s (96.3).

2. Are you saying German (age 25), Thad Ward (age 26), Darwinzon Hernandez (age 26) and Jacob Wallace (age 24) are a bunch of jabronis, but Kaleb Ort (age 31) isn’t?

Don't blame me. Bloom is calling the shots here. I am just trying to explain it. And Ort does hit triple digits with his heater.

His heater averaged less than German’s.

I’m not blaming you, but I am questioning your assessment of Ort and several of the Sox former younger pitchers…

All this angst about Ort.

Ort is an odd word.

"Ort" as defined by the Free Dictionary by Farlex (over 13 billion served): 1. A small scrap or leaving of food after a meal is completed. 2. A scrap; a bit. (Cookery) a leftover fragment of food.

How can any of this pertain to the recipes on Bloom's Menu for force-feeding the masses? Tried fitting into a seat at Fenway Park lately? Small portions...

Kaleb Ort also sounds exactly like Kale Abort.

You Ort and Brasier Crybabies never let up with the questioning of Chaim's assessments of these guys. ;)

More sound advice, for another overrated leafy green.

I prefer Swiss chard, which also grows in any condition and regenerates through the postseason... anything is better than basic lettuce, always out of contention by mid-July.

Nope.

And yet we get accused of supporting Bloom’s every move by people who find even the notion of saying “Dombrowski had far more opportunities to extend Betts” as sacrilegious and worthy of excommunication…

Surprisingly, according to B-R, there has never been a major leaguer named “Kale.” Nor one named “Romaine” nor any other green leafy. Closest I could find was former Twins 3b Mike Cubbage…

Bloom waited to add Bleier until Eck retired; now there's no NESN announcers that make fun of guys who toss salad.

Kaleb was the name of the best dog to ever roam this earth. He was a yellow lab-shepherd mix and lived to be 20 years old.

R.I.P. my old friend.

Shepherd-labs are the best mutts to ever come out of Mongrelia. I've had many in my time. Now I'm surrounded by a pack of rescued cattle dog mixes, another good shepherd derivative.

My current dog, Blue, was named Caleb by the shelter we adopted him from. He was one of 12 puppies in the litter, all with “C” names. All lab mutts mistakenly labeled “miniature pinscher” by the shelter.

He’s the friendliest dog ever, often described as “friendly to dangerous levels” and completely useless for home protection. He’s closer to “greeter” than “watchdog” should anyone ever break in. His only hope at home protection is keeping the would-be burglar occupied in play time until the police arrived…

A bunch of Calebs, though.

Franklin German was just DFA'd to make room for Bleier. German had a crazy-ass OPSA, last season of .492 in 50 IP- best in the whole system.

I have to think he'll end up being traded, probably for a not 40 man roster player, within a week.

Maybe the Marlins take him, too.

One pitch pitcher. Probably trade bait though. However, it gives the Sox little leverage if he's already been DFA'd.

I honestly don’t understand that move. He developed how they hoped and cut him after a 4 inning cameo?

Disagree. He doesn't have the secondary pitch to get advanced hitters out.

I thought German was supposed to be the gem in the Ottavino acquisition.

I think having a quality setup guy for a year they got to the ALCS was good enough.

I don’t get the faith in Ort.

Not to mention, if the goal is to slip someone through waivers, why not the 31yo career minor leaguer that every team in MLB has been ignoring since his days on the Joliet Slammers…

They aren't slipping German through waivers. Not at this point in the offseason anyway.

What is German's second pitch? It's not 1987. Lots of guys through hard now. You need other pitches to get quality hitters out too.

Kaleb was white with yellow tinges like a yellow lab and had the body type of a German Shepherd. I know everyone thinks their own dog was/is the best ever, and I've had many dogs own me, but this guy was simply amazing. My vet was shocked he lived so long. His last year was rough, but he was a trooper through it all.

Here is one of the best songs about a dog I have ever heard... "Old Blue" by Cisco Houston:
