I wonder if the Sox and Celtics are staying in the same hotel this weekend. I know the Sox always stay in SF when they play in Oakland. Can't say I blame them. I've been to the Coliseum. The surrounding area is not what I would call the place to be...

I mean, there are some very unsafe parts of SF too.

Bsides being a great player, what other similarity will the Mike Trout share in the future with Ted Williams and Ernie Banks?

This is strictly my opinion.

Testing your baseball knowledge:

This major leaguer hit a HR his 1st time at the plate. After 21 years and 493 PA's he never hit another HR. Who was he?

Hint: Obviously, he was a pitcher.

What pitcher has the most PAs (1645) and only 1 HR?

Tom Glavine

What pitcher has the most PAs (1559) and no HRs?

What player has the most PAs with no HRs, since 1910?

My daughters live in cool neighborhoods of Oakland and San Francisco, respectively.

Yes, there are cool and unsafe areas in both cities.

According to the internet Tommy Thevenow, who played in the NL from 1926-1938, had a career 3337 at bats w/o a HR.

While looking up Moon's questions on the internet, I found an interesting streak. Freddy Freeman went 35 consecutive AB's without swinging and missing. The streak ended in July 2021. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

E-Rod gave up 10 runs today. Season ERA is 10.13. Think Detroit is starting to get nervous over that contract? Yikes!

The tigers actually have 2 pitchers named E-Rod, today was Elvin not Eduardo. The true E-Rod is in the IL and his season ERA is 4.38, about par for his mediocre career.

To answer my own question; M.Trout will be another HOF player whose team never won a WS.

Franchy is starting to look like he could develop into a good player.

He always "had the tools," but so did a lot of others like him that failed.

For a while, it looked like Winckowski was the best hope of redeeming something from that Beni trade.

Now, Beni's control is up, this winter, and Franchy has 2 more arb years.

EO holds the record for most starts before his 1st complete game at 210. Second, surprisingly enough, was Scherzer at 178.

A late bloomer.
