Imho, EO, Wacha, and Whitlock are 3 damn good starters. And probably better than any 3 starters on any team in the AL East at this point.

Just think if the SOX had a healthy Sale.

Just think if Christmas came every month. The likelihood of both occurrences is about equal.

But then I'm watching some of the Hurricanes vs. Bruins which is a mismatch 4-1 after 2periods. Apparently Boston has never once in 2022, including tonight held a lead over Carolina, a hockey town if there ever was one

If they did, even under the best case, wouldn't they still be barely a .500 team?

This team can’t afford to win and lose one. They need to sweep the angels. This is what happens when you s*** the bed early.

Oliver Ortega , in relief, gets 7 outs on 22 pitches, 17 of which are strikes, only 1 single. Relief pitching at its most effective

Once again the lack of hitting is hurting this team.

It's a high humidity day so the new ball amidst those conditions can't fly as far, as proven by Stassi and Rendon. Neither HR was epic.

I don't know, Mr Wizard. I do know that teams with good starting pitching have a decent chance of making the PO's. But then, if this team continues most of the rest of the season with this anemic offense, I guess it won't matter.

Yeah, the old 'humid air is heavier than clear air' myth.

Yes, it is a myth . Water vapor molecules are lighter than 'dry" oxygen/nitrogen mix, so high humidity air is lighter than dry air. But there is the possibility that the ball itself absorbs some of that water vapor increasing the weight of the ball......but wait E=mass x velocity squared so a heavier ball will have more energy at a fixed speed but then the coefficient of contact and the amount of velocity transferred to the ball , along with optimization of launch angle help determine how far and high the ball will fly. Bogey gets it, some others unnamed don't.

When Robles was with the Angels, I saw too much of his inabilities, living here in SoCal. He is the definition of a thrower. Sometimes effective, often not. It was a mistake to pitch him as today's closer vs his old team.

Regardless of outcome , Diekman is another thrower, not pitcher

Could not get the .224 hitting Walsh out , lefty on LH hitter. 15 pitches and not an out among them .
