Hey look! A game that those of us in Boston without access to NESN can actually watch :)

Yesterday was worth the wait to see the new/old lineup. Not sure I like Dalbec over Schwarber, but he's getting $80M for 4 years with the Phillies, and Dalbec is a terrific bargain with loads of potential.

i like Dalbec. Plus, he has some versatility. Schwarber plays defense like he has a meat cleaver instead of a glove.

Dalbec doesn't hit righties well. Stop freaking out over one game

That's a relief. Good thing most MLB pitchers are lefties.

I'm not anti-Dalbec. He had a low OBP last year but 25 dingers, 78 rbi's, and overall a pretty decent season. If Bloom had spent $80M for 4 years for anyone, I would have want it spent on a pitcher.

You crack me up.

By the way, we all know Bobby Dee has some sizable split differentials, but are these numbers all that bad for any players first 331 PAs vs righties in his MLB career?

.296 OBP

.463 SLG

.759 OPS

19 HRs

48 RBI

Project that to 662 PAs:

.218 38 96

Dave Kingman stuff, here!

vs LHPs per 660 PAs

.279 42 138 (.898 OPS)

Yes, the 138 RBIs is correct- the man gets hits with men on base. Too bad that is not a repeatable skill. (Cue hysteria)

Same lineup as yesterday. I assume the delay was over the availability of Bogaerts, who is, thank goodness, back at SS and batting 3d. I think this lineup is fine.

Let's see how Pivetta does.

Nobody would want Dalbec over Schwarber, talent wise right now. Schwarber does so much for a lineup like we saw last year.

There’s no room for him. The Red Sox have a DH.

There is always room for a bat like Schwarber's. He played first base, can play some leftfield and DH. Not great defensively but his bat makes up for that.

He can’t play either position to a minimum standard. He’s awful.

Has there been any word on Severino’s pitch limit today?

He is at 43 in the 2nd.

Yeah he probably only has one inning left unless he has a quick 3rd. Yanks are carrying 11 relievers though so they'll manage.
